ET CDMA Phases II

1 Checking of Design
There are design documents, and the installation is accord with the design documents.
2 Site Environment

2.1 Sealed Room for equipment

The doors and windows of the new shelter, the cable-through feeder window and holes
leading outside, should be sealed properly. The holes leading outside of the outdoor site should
be sealed properly, so as to keep water, dust, mice and insects from entering the room.

Sealed properly

2.2 Site Safety

There are no any flammable, explosive, corrosive, or heat producing object (such as paint,
gasoline, and stove) in the site room.
2.3 Site clean
The room and the floor are cleaned when the site installation finished.

3 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II

2.4 Spare parts neaten

Spare parts, construction materials and other items should be neatly stacked .The sundries
irrelevant to operation, like cartons or remnant cables or wastes should be removed or packed
up.

2.5 Detection devices

There should be early fire detection devices, such as smog detector, temperature detector,in
the equipment area. There should be fire extinguishers around.

4 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II

2.6 Site safeguard

The ground must be even, there should be wall or fence around the site to protect. This is
ETC's responsibility.
3 Civil work and grounding system and of the new site

3.1 Civil work

The civil work and the concrete intensity should conform to the engineering design. This is
ETC's responsibility.
3.2 Tower foot
The tower-foot should be encapsulated with cement and mortar without surface defects. This
is ETC's responsibility.

Tower foot should be encapsulated with

cement and mortar without surface defects

3.3 Earthing net and grounding system

Earthing net and grounding system construction should conform to the engineering design.
5 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II
This is ETC's responsibility. The cross joints between tower-foot and earth lead are welded
properly without any loose or shaking.
4 Tower, generator, solar, shelter installation

4.1 Installation accord with the design

The tower, generator, solar and shelter installation should conform to the design.
4.2 Tower anchor bolt
The anchor bolt above the foundation should be treated with anticorrosion and theft proof.

4.3 Shelter body

The shelter body should be installed properly and firmly on the groundwork without any
deformation.

6 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II

4.4 Cable tray

The cable tray should be connected well, firmly.

4.5 Support bracket for the external Air Conditioner

The support bracket for the external AC (air conditioner) part should be installed properly and
firmly.

7 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II

4.6 Generator or solar installation

All the bolts and nuts of the generator or solar must be fixed firmly without any loosening.

fixed firmly

5 Lightning Protection and Grounding

5.1 Feeder grounding

The feeder should be grounded in an applicable way at the following three points: at the
tower platform, in between the tower and the outdoor cable tray, 1m away from the feeder
window outside.
If the tower is over 60m high, the feeder should be grounded once more at the center of the
tower.
If the feeder is laid on the building roof, the feeder should be grounded at the following three
points: 1m away from the antenna pole, 1m away from the roof platform, and 1m away from the
entrance to the equipment room.

8 / 13
ET CDMA Phases II

5.2 Grounding cables Connect

Copper lugs should be used for the ends of the grounding cables. The surface between the
lugs and the grounding bar should be attached tightness.

If the bolts are

not enough, two
grounding cables
can share one
bolt.

5.3 Outdoor anticorrosion

All the outdoor grounding bars and joints are treated with anticorrosion and rust-proof.

6 BTS Installation and wiring

6.1 Equipment installation reliable

Equipment installation must fix to the ground and the fixing method should be reliable.
6.2 Cable routing
The routing of power cable, signal cables and GND cable should be straight and with proper
addition at the bends..

6.3 Power cables

The copper lugs of the power cable must have a protective casing or wrapped. The power
cable should be without any joint in between, and the insulating layer should be intact and
sound.
6.4 BTS device
There are no sundries in the BTS Cabinet.

6.5 Label
The labels must be uniform and printed clear. The tail of these straps should be in the same
direction.

ET CDMA Phases II

6.6 Antenna
The antenna model, azimuth and suspension height should conform to the design.
The antennas, feeders, grounding cables shall be installed properly and firmly.
6.7 VSWR
The measured standing wave ratio should be smaller than 1.5. It is required to provide the
corresponding VSWR value and the VSWR test diagram.
