“Mapbook_for_ArcGIS” complete folder to your
hard-disk c:\Program Files\ArcGIS

 To install this MapBook extension, please double

click “_INSTALL.bat”
 To uninstall this extension,
double click “_UNINSTALL.bat”
 Within folder “docs”, check
Map Book Generation.doc in detail

 Before we use MapBook extension, you must

have the target study area basic vector/raster
map on hand.

 Example: Greater Jakarta, Indonesia

 An Index Grid Map

 Overlay with current 1km grids
 Proximal size: width 3 km x height 2 km
 Assign unique index attribute, like:
• Map001 : AA_12 (AA: Column ID,12: Row ID)
 Quick grid generate kit
• NPSGrid_1.1.exe (X:\Application Tool\Grid_Generation)
– Adjust Column ID, like A, BAA, AB
 Generate a Map Series

 Active MapBook extension

 In ArcMap Tools> Customize…
• Toolbars > Map Series (Check this one)
• Extension pop-up
• New Icon on Table of Contents area

 Design your layout view

 Setup output paper size : A3
 Setup margin : 1 cm to border
 Insert : North Arrow, Scale bar, Scale Text …etc
