‘Our Place ‐ Through the Eyes of a Child’ has been a ten week residency by Polyglot Theatre. Four artists
have worked with a group of parent / child pairs from Healsville and the surrounding communities.
A unique artistic process has resulted in a beautiful exhibition of installations that will be on display in the
Healsville Memorial Hall. Original creations have been made that express shared fantasy environments of
the participating families. Old furniture has been inhabited by surreal worlds that celebrate the perception
of children. For some who have been affected by the Black Saturday bushfires, the opportunity to work
closely together with their parent or child, on a creative project has been a meaningful and inspiring
experience.
Director, Jessica Wilson, visual artist, Lisa Frankland and sound artists Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey
have worked closely with the ideas of the participating group to invent installations that are visually
charming and sonically enlightening. We invite you to be led through this series of atmospheric worlds that
will surprise and delight, and share a celebration of special relationship between parent and child.
