Ecologic Model
A. Hypothesis – biological, nutritive, and physical predispose the prolonged pain
but the young age of the mother lowers the resistance and risk of
complications
B. Predisposing Factors:
a. Host - a 16 yrs. Old, female, pure Filipino, was bed rest for 4 days
unable to perform independently. She was able to drink water, but
insufficient for her daily intake. No other abnormalities were found
upon taking of vital signs for 5 days except her temperature increases
for 2 days. There were no allergies recalled allergies in both parents of
the client. Had stopped studying after discovering that she was
pregnant and is still unemployed.
b. Agent – the c/s resulted to an incision in her lower abdomen which
could result to infection if not assessed properly. She was unable to
drink 8-10 glasses of water per day, her void 770 cc per day and
defecated once for 4 days. She refuses food served by the hospital;
she consumes non-nutritive foods such as instant noodles, biscuits,
crackers, and packed breads bought by her mother. 5 days after the c-
section operation, she insisted to drink (zago) artificial chocolate shake
and was able to eat foods from the hospital. The weather was
inconstant; it was sunny in the morning and rains in the afternoon.
Sometimes the electricity worn-out. Facilities in the hospital as the
client is confined was clean, the room was properly lit, and trashes was
disseminated (biodegradable and non-biodegradable were separated
and covered) the environment is cool due to the air conditioner present
in the room.
c. Environment – The client does not work her parents’ servers as her
support person.

C. Ecologic Model

D. Analysis - the agent increases her risk of having infection that makes it more
dominant since the host has the limited influence to the agent.
E. The nutritional status of the client has more influence in the client’s health
that slows down the development of healing process of the surgical incision.
F. Recommendations
• General health of the client should be considered
• Proper hygiene awareness in the incision
• Perform activities such as abdominal exercises to strength her
abdominal muscles
