V Ancient Egyptians believed that when the pharaoh died, he
became Osiris, king of the dead. The new pharaoh became Horus,
god of the heavens and protector of the sun god. This cycle was
symbolized by the rising and setting of the sun.

V Some part of a dead pharaoh's spirit, called his w was believed to

remain with his body. And it was thought that if the corpse did
not have proper care, the former pharaoh would not be able to
carry out his new duties as king of the dead. If this happened, the
cycle would be broken and disaster would befall Egypt.

V To prevent such a catastrophe, each dead pharaoh was

mummified, which preserved his body. Everything the king
would need in his afterlife was provided in his grave³vessels
made of clay, stone, and gold, furniture, food, even doll-like
representations of servants, known as His body would
continue to receive food offerings long after his death.
ooooo men built the great egyptian pyramid
abiding by the orders of pharaoh Khufu , the
son of King Sneferu and Queen Hetepheres
.The leader ,chosen by Khufu himself ,places
his hand on the many skillful men and orders
them on what role to play on the building of
the pyramid.
V A pendulum was used to read the stars and
aline the pyramid in shape . when the rocks
were brought into the site and lined by the
calculations of the stars the shape is still
awkward .the builders use a copper chisel to
shape the pyramid When the chisel gets blunt
there are particular men who slightly melt the
chisel , reshape it and dip it into water to make
it sharp.
THE EGYPTIANS GOT THEIR ROCKS
FROM THE VILLAGE ASWAN AND
THE QUARRY.THEY BUILT 2 RAMPS
OF GRANITE .ABOUT 200 MEN
PULLED A CART OF ONE ROCK OF
GRANITE.THEY ADDED WATER TO
THE CART FOR IT TO ACT AS A
LUBRICANT.
A lot of pyramids have been demolished. The
location of Pyramid 29 for example, the so-
called "Headless Pyramid", was lost for a
second time when the structure was buried by
desert sands subsequent to Lepsius' survey. It
was only rediscovered again during an
archaeological dig conducted in 2008.
Many pyramids are in a poor state of
preservation or buried by desert sands. If
visible at all they may appear as little more than
mounds of rubble.
