LOAD TEST ON 3 O SQUIRREL

CAGE INDUCTION MOTOR

AIM:

To conduct load test on the given three phase squirrel cage induction
motor and to draw the performance characteristic curves.

APPARATUS REQUIRED:

4. Tachometer Digital 1

PRECAUTIONS:

Before switching ON the supply,

1. the should not be any load on the induction motor side at the time of
starting.
2. the phase sequence of RYB should be given properly.

2. Output Power PO = 2пNT 60 (watt)
3. Input Power Pi = W1+W2 (watt)

PROCEDURE:

1. The connections were given as per the circuit diagram.

2. Observe the precautions and switch ON the ac supply.
3. The motor was started using the star-delta starter and the no load
readings were noted down from the voltmeter, ammeter and
wattmeter.
4. The load was adjusted in steps for various motor load currents from
no load to full load current and the corresponding readings were noted
down.
5. Reduce the load and observe the precautions and switch OFF the ac
supply.
