FOUNDRY DEGASSING UNIT
REPRODUCIBLE RESULTS
FDU degassing units are a metal treatment system for the degassing and cleaning of aluminium alloys in the foundry. FDU units
use the impeller principle with a patented rotor which mixes fine inert gas (usually Nitrogen) bubbles with the melt. With this
principle, a wide distribution of the gas bubbles throughout the body of the melt (but with a smooth surface of the melt) is
achieved. This results in short treatment times, effective degassing and melt cleaning. REDUCED MACHINING COSTS

melts. During degassing, with the proven FDU technology (Foundry Degassing Unit), all required treatment materials, for
cleaning, modification and grain refining can be added at pre-set levels. Similarly, it is also possible to add treatment Mechanical properties of G-AlSi7 wa alloy following different
materials for the removal of sodium or calcium. In this way it is possible to add metallic materials such as master alloy treatment processes
or alloying metals, as well as reactive treatment materials in precise doses directly to the melt. 250 5

The distribution of the treatment material in the
melt is more effective than achieved using hand
addition. In many cases it is therefore possible
to save both time and energy.
