Consider the single-stage JFET tuned amplifier shown in Fig. 5.1. For RS=700Ω, R1=700Ω,
R2=70kΩ, R3=22kΩ, RD1=700Ω, RS1=500Ω, RL1=700Ω, C1=10nF, C2=C3=C4=C5=1µF,
L1=633.3nH, VDD=10Vdc, VS=100mV, a=n2/n1=2, Vp=2.9V, IDSS=11.7mA, J1=2N3819:
Section A:
1. Note the DC values of the amplifier.
2. Implement the circuit shown in Fig. 5.1 in Pspice, and complete Table 5.1 for several value
of the capacitor C1.
3. Plot the curve Avm as a function of f0 from the measured values of Table 5.1.
4. Compare the values of f0m with f0C, and give your comment.
5. Compare the values of Qim with QiC, and give your comment.

Section B:
1. Implement the circuit shown in Fig. 5.2 in Pspice to obtain two-stage synchronous tuned
amplifier.
2. Make sure that I D1 = I D 2 , and R1 // RS = RD1 // RL1 = RD 2 // RL 2 , and the two transistors are
similar, so that gm1=gm2.
3. Complete Table 5.2 for several values of the capacitor C1.
4. Compare the bandwidths of both circuits, and check that BWtot = BW1, 2 21/ n − 1 .
5. What would happen if f 01 ≠ f 02 ?
6. Plot the curve Avm as a function of f0 from the measured values of Table 5.2.
