  He was given the nickname Mauk.

  Was born in Leewarden, Netherlands.

  He had been a sickly kid, and not good at school.

  He had a huge influence on science and art.

  Today many teachers use his methods to teach their students.

  In his life he had created over 2,000 sketches.

  Unlike most artist he was left handed.

  He had also illustrated books, designed tapestries, postage stamps, and murals.

  All of his influence had come from his mother and
father. They were the ones to push him through school
to receive a proper education. Escher had been a
terrible student, not being bad in class, but not doing or
understanding any of his work. Without the support of
his parents, Escher would have never become what he
is today.
