Platonic Solids and Archimedean Solids:

An Archimedean Solid is “a highly symmetric, semi-regular

convex polyhedron composed of two or more types of regular polygons

meeting in identical vertices” They got their name from the

renasissance artist and mathematictian know soely as Archimedes.

Archimedes lived from 287 BC – c. 212 BC. He made strives in

mathematics. He had such a strong understanding of Geometry that he

was able to use a reflective mirror to reflect the sun and set fire to

enemy sails, causing the attacking armies to retreat.
