Welcome to our new catalogue for this new 2008/09 season. I must start by thanking all of our existing customers for their continued allegiance to Green-Tech and welcome to those of you that are new. We are now entering our 15th year of supplying products to the landscaping, forestry and construction industries. We manage a portfolio of over 1700 carefully chosen products. This year alone we have added over 100 products. We are committed to being the industrys finest single source supplier, not only offering product choice but the most excellent service too. The last year has proved the most exciting yet, with the acquisition of a new arm to our business. Tricor Services was acquired on the 1st July 2008 and has complimented our existing portfolio with a range of irrigation systems, planters and environmental street products. This is a great addition to our ever growing environmentally friendly product range, with both the recycled nature of many of the products and the water saving capabilities of the Mona Plant Systems. Green-tree soil has gone from strength to strength, leading us to employ a dedicated specialist in the area to give the product the focus it demands. We have once again been rewarded for the environmental benefits of the product with a prestigious 'Green Apple National Gold' award presented by none other than the environmentalist Professor David Bellamy in June 2008. Our commitment to environmental products has grown over the last year with the introduction of one of our most popular new lines over recent years. Sales of our 100% recycled ground protection system have grown dramatically since the launch last summer and has been well received by all those who have bought it. We are dedicated to keeping this 'green' focus throughout the company and are sure that the new products introduced over the next year will further enhance the excellent range and service that we know you all value greatly. Martin House Childrens Hospice Each year a member of staff chooses a charity for us to support. This year is the turn of Barry Mitchell. Barry has worked as our Warehouse Manager for the last 7 years and has chosen Martin House Childrens Hospice. For each catalogue distributed by Green-tech, we will donate a minimum of 10p to the Hospice plus additional funding from our office tuck shop and further fundraising activities throughout the year.

What is the Mona Plant System (MPS)?

Mona Plant System (MPS) is an advanced, well proven and easy to use subterranean irrigation system. It is the cost effective and environmentally friendly solution for both interior and exterior landscaping. MPS ensures that water and nutrients are delivered in the right quantity to the root of the plants, resulting in improved root development and optimal plant growth.
What does the MPS range consist of?

Tanks - self contained water reservoirs. Links - open ended tank reservoirs enabling link connections. Rings - a system of link reservoirs connected for tree irrigation. Modules - portable self irrigating plant displays for interior or exterior use.
What are the advantages of an MPS system?

Reduces maintenance costs
Reduces watering frequency to intervals of up to six weeks*. Reduces liquid fertiliser concentration by up to 75%.

Suitable for interior and exterior landscaping. Portable and available in many shapes and sizes for a variety of landscaping requirements. Controls root spread so can be used in any terrain. No need for mains electricity or water supply.
MPS Tanks
MPS Tanks are available in a variety of sizes to fit all containers and pots. MPS Tanks can be planted at difficult depths to suit the plant roots. MPS Tanks ranging from 0.9 litres to 25 litres.

Installation
Add water when necessary through filler point.
Cut filler pipe down to size required.
1. Place the Plantsava inside the planter. If the filler pipe is too long, you can cut it down to size. Make sure you cut the float inside the pipe by the same amount.
2. Fill the capillary leg with soil. Make sure that there are no air pockets buut do not over compact the soil.
3. Cover your Plantsava with a layer of soil. The bottom of your plants roots should be no more than 15cm above the top of the reservoir.

4. Remove your plant from the grow pot and loosen any pot bound roots. Complete planting by filling the remaining space in the container with soil. Water in the soil lightly.

MPS Links
Ideal for interior and exterior landscaping. The flexible hose connects links together for any size landscaping requirement. Perfect for use in curved and unusual shaped beds. Gradients are handled with ease (roof gardens etc). Ideal for shallow planting environments.
Applications
MPS links can be used for practically all interior and exterior plant bed requirements including unusually challenging environments such as: Roof Gardens Slopes Staircases Urban environments Remote locations
Installation
1. Connect the required number of MPS links together.
2. When installing on slopes ensure that each link is level.
3. Ensure that the distance between the top of the link and the lower part of the root does not exceed 150mm.
4. When connecting links together ensure that the filler point is in the highest link.

MPS Rings
Available in 2 sizes. Water reservoir holds up to 72 litres. Forms a ring around the root ball to ensure optimal growth. Ideal for interior and exterior tree irrigation. Lockable steel access fittings available.

Installation
Connect the MPS links to form a ring around the root ball of the tree. Cover with a planting medium ensuring that the filler cap stands proud.
Example MPS Ring Installation Install the MPS Ring around the roots of the tree ensuring that if the area is being concreted over, the filler point is level with or proud of the surface. Lockable steel collars fit over the filler pipe cap to create a flush surface. The steel collar can be unlocked when watering is required.

Installation

2. Place the MPS Tank into the plastic liner.

Plantsava Root Watering System The hassle free way to healthy plants... How does Plantsava work
As a "root watering system", Plantsavas simplicity has an interesting science behind it. Plantsava doesn't just water a plant's roots, it provides the much needed oxygen. Once easily installed in the pot, a filler pipe from the surface runs down to a water reservoir in the base of the pot. The system delivers water from the roots upwards for up to 6 weeks without the need for re-filling. A float in the filler pipe will tell you when the reservoir is full. Using the soil's natural capillary action, the plant draws water from the soil only when it requires water. So there is no more guessing on how much and how often you should water your plants. "Over-watering" does not kill plants. Rather, they are drowned and suffocated by a lack of oxygen in the soil. This occurs when available pore spaces for oxygen in the soil are saturated by water. This is a common problem with traditional top-watering methods. Through the filler pipe and vents on top of the reservoir, the soil is replenished with oxygen from the atmosphere. In this way, Plantsava allows oxygen to be delivered directly to the plant's root where it is required to grow. Plantsava helps your plants establish a healthy root system, which means healthy looking plants.
Installation

Tricor Traditional Planters Classic designs that never date

Tricor Traditional Planters emulate the look and feel of natural materials such as terracotta, stone and wood without the disadvantages. Made from UV-stabilised LLDPE, the planters are extremely light-weight, yet robust, making them ideal for difficult locations such as balconies and wall brackets. All planters may be easily drilled for drainage so they can be used both indoor and outdoor.

The Paris range from Tricor has a Versailles style painted wood appearance, with attractive finials and a panelled design. The in-built waterstuds create an internal reservoir and can be combined with the award-winning Plantsava self watering system (page 11). Alternatively, we now offer a built in self watering option. Green-tech regularly sell over 3 million spirals throughout the country each year. Manufactured in 100% recycled material offering a life expectancy of over 4 years, tree spirals have been used in Europe as the main protector of young trees for over 15 years. This low cost option provides traditional protection for stemmed seedlings and transplants. Installation is simple with the aid of a bamboo cane inside the spiral, or if preferred with the use of an external stake and tie. (See page 26 for stakes and page 24 for ties).

Mesh Tree Guards

Manufactured from black high density polyethylene (green or brown also available on request, prices may differ). This material is UV stabilised, rot proof, chemical resistant and acts as a deterrent against damage whilst minimising the visual impact of plant protection. Available in roll form or cut pieces. gt Support Frames stabilise the grilles and helps to prevent shrinkage and subsidence of the tree pit. gt Security Clamps secure the individual sections of the tree grille to each other and to the support frame, which increases the rigidity of the whole unit and prevents removal of the grille sections.
Type 1 Frame Not suitable for grilles that are of more than two segments. Only ground anchored tree guards can be used.
Type 2 Frame Inner section removable to allow uplift and replanting of tree. Bolt fix tree guards can be used, attached to the centre ring.

Often the most critical area affecting the success or failure of the urban tree is below ground. All too often trees are planted into cramped planting pits in poor subsoil. Tree roots require space, nutrients, moisture and oxygen to thrive. The RootCell system has been developed following consultation with landscape architects, local authorities and leading tree experts. The concept is simple RootCells provide a load bearing structure preventing the soil from becoming compacted and lifeless. These plastic rigid skeletal interlocking ring RootCells are manufactured from recycled HDPE each cell being 250 x 250 x 100mm. Their loading capacity is 80 tonnes per square metre for an evenly distributed load.

Wild Flower Seed

Wild Flower Mixtures with Native Seed Provenance
Environmental pressures mean that wild flower planting now forms an important part of many landscape projects. The issue of native seed provenance is already vital in many parts of the UK and its importance is almost certain to grow. Green-tech is probably the largest independent supplier of wild flower seeds in the UK. Our standard mixture is 20% wild flowers to 80% low maintenance native grasses, but special mixes are available to exactly match the ecological requirements of any landscape. Our prices are highly competitive but remember: some seeds are scarce and thus more expensive. The precise mixture used can make significant differences to cost both upwards and downwards. Wild Flower Management

Site Preparation
The site should be weed free. Annual weeds should be controlled by mechanical means or by the use of contact based herbicide such as paraquat. Perennial weeds, for example docks thistle, nettles and couch grass can be dealt with using a translocated herbicide such as Round-Up. Cultivate to achieve a fine seed bed and then roll to ensure firmness. The best results are obtained when there is good contact between the soil and the seeds. June SOWING POSSIBLE

Sowing can best be achieved by mixing the seed with dry sand or sifted topsoil and evenly broadcast. It is important that the seed is in contact with moisture in the soil so the seedbed should be lightly raked and then rolled.
Management
DO NOT USE FERTILISER, either prior to sowing or in future years management. This will only encourage the grasses which will subsequently outcompete the wild flowers.
Cutting Regime
Year 1 Every 6-8 weeks Year 2 October This regime allows the wild flowers to compete with grasses during the establishment period. After this, cutting in October should suffice, after which the cuttings should always be removed.

Japanese Knotweed
Japanese Knotweed is a rampant rhizomatous perennial weed known to grow some seven metres away from the parent plant with new shoots capable of penetrating tarmac, paving and building foundations. Recognisable from its noded bamboo like stems that emerge in March/April and mature leaves that are approximately 15cm in diameter, Japanese Knotweed not only outruns other plants, but it also forms a smothering mulch to other plants from leaf and stem litter. Effective control of Japanese Knotweed can be achieved by the combination of using translocated herbicides along with soil removal. Many trials have been carried out and the chemicals detailed below have been selected for their success. Terms & Conditions

DEFINITIONS & INTERPRETATION In these conditions, the following words shall, where the context so admits, have the following meanings: The Company - Green-tech Ltd Company Reg No. 04543146 (Green-tech) The Customer - The organisation or individual from whom the order is received. The Goods - Goods or services supplied by the Company to the Customer Working Day - Any day which is not a Saturday, or a Sunday or a bank or public holiday in England SHORTAGES/DISCREPANCIES POLICY The customer is responsible for checking quantities when a delivery is made or they collect. Any shortages/discrepancies must be notified within 48 hours of receipt, by telephone and confirmed in writing within 7 days to the company. After this time no responsibility will be accepted for any shortages or discrepancies. Please note that many items are natural products and as such may have varying colours and textures etc. CARRIAGE Where possible carriage will be paid on orders over 300 in value. Access to the delivery address is the customers responsibility. It is the customers responsibility to inform the company of any site restrictions to vehicle size. DAMAGE & RETURNED GOODS Any goods received damaged or of a defective specification should be notified on the delivery note and within 48 hours of receipt, by telephone and confirmed in writing within 7 days to the company. The company will replace any goods damaged in transit or of a defective specification providing the above conditions are met. No other returns will be accepted. When goods are delivered by a carrier damages must be noted on their paperwork at the time of receipt and on the copy kept by the carrier. NON-DELIVERY Must be notified within 5 days of receipt of the invoice and confirmed in writing, otherwise no liability will be considered. RETURNS POLICY In exceptional circumstances and only at the discretion of the Directors, goods may be accepted for return. In these circumstances a handling charge of 25% will be applied and the customer is responsible for the safe and complete return of the goods. TITLE & RESPONSIBILITY Title of the goods will remain with the company until FULL payment is received. Responsibility and risk in the goods shall pass to the customer upon delivery. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE Under no circumstances will the company be liable under this head, nor for those arising through unavoidable delays in manufacture of deliveries OVERDUE ACCOUNTS Accounts are due for settlement within 30 days of invoice. Overdue accounts WILL be charged at 5% over Yorkshire Bank base rate. Accounts remaining unpaid after 75 days will also become subject to a 25% surcharge. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, BACS or credit/debit cards. In authorising us to accept payment with your credit/debit card you accept overdue accounts may in the future be settled using your card details. Customers with overdue accounts can expect to have further deliveries suspended without prior price notice. PESTICIDE & CHEMICAL SALES All pesticides and chemicals sold are with the understanding that they will be used by competent end users within the guidelines of FEPA (Food and Environment Protection Act 1985). All pesticides and chemicals are sold with the understanding that they are used strictly within the latest Approved Recommendations for that product. When using pesticides and chemicals. Always read the label and use safely.
In these conditions, references to the singular include the plural, and references to any statute or statutory provision shall, unless the context requires otherwise, be construed as a reference to that statute or statutory provision as from time to time amended, consolidated, modified, extended, re-enacted or replaced. PREVAILING CLAUSE Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, these conditions shall govern and form part of every contract for the provision of all Goods which are provided by the Company and shall prevail over and exclude any terms or conditions, whether expressed or implied, of the Customer. PRICES Prices in the catalogue and on the website are correct at the time of going to press and all prices quoted are in UK sterling. All prices are subject to VAT at the rate ruling and should be treated as a guide only. Due to our policy of continuous improvement, Green-tech Ltd retain the right to alter any price or specification without prior notice. ORDERS Orders will be accepted by telephone, fax, in writing or by e-mail. All orders over 5000 must be confirmed in writing. 1st orders must be paid for up front before a 30 day credit account will be considered. QUOTATIONS Are given without engagement and are based on information provided by the customer. DELIVERIES Deliveries will be made as soon as possible after an order is placed (unless the customer specifies a deferred delivery date). The company cannot guarantee a time or date of delivery. Customers are required to be on site at time of delivery, unless they have previously informed the company of alternative arrangements. Timed deliveries will incur an extra charge. No responsibility will be accepted for an overnight 24 hours delivery contracted to an independent carrier which does not arrive on time, nor will any claims for consequential loss be accepted. If the customer requires the delivery vehicle to be driven off the public highway in order to make a delivery, then this will be entirely at the customers own risk and the company will not accept any responsibility for damage to property caused by the vehicles. Unloading of goods is the responsibility of the customer. Goods shall be deemed to be delivered when handed to the carrier.
