Autodesk Inventor provides a great and extremely simple technique of linking the XLS

file with the Inventor files. You can define parameters in the XLS file and then link the
XLS file to the ipt file to use the parameters defined in the XLS file. However, you need
to be careful while defining the XLS file. You just need to enter the parameter name and
its value in the XLS file. The following is one of the examples that you can use in the
XLS file.

LEN 60
LEN1 30
WID 20
HT 15

In the first column, enter the name of the parameter and in the second column, enter its
value. Note that if you define a parameter as an equation using the other parameters, it
may not be displayed in the ipt file when you link it to the XLS file.

Hope this helps you in linking XLS file with the Inventor files.
