This document defines the process for access to the Release 12 Oracle
Applications and the navigation practices.
Once your IT staff has provided you with you URL and logon information, you can
open you browser and input the URL. The first page should look like the image
below.
To add a link to your “Favorites” area, press the Personalize button. You will see
an area similar to image below.
Here you can select from your assigned responsibilities. Press the down arrow
and select one of them, then press the GO button.
Under the “Select Function Prompt” is a listing of forms. You can select them by
checking the box to the far left and then pressing the ADD button. If you don’t
see the form you want, it may be farther along in the list. You can see more
forms by pressing the NEXT 10 link to the far right.
Once you have selected the Functions you wish to include in your Favorites, click
the Apply button. It should now appear similar to the image below.
You may also add link to sites on the Internet by using the Add URL button
shown above.
Once you have added everything you may need to your Favorites area, you can
click any of the Function links to open the Application Forms.
Menu:
Once logged on, you should see a menu screen similar to the one below.
Guidelines:
At the top of your Oracle Application window, you will find a toolbar. Below is
the definition of each of the icons.
The Forms:
1. Single-Row Block
2. Multi-Row Block
3. Folder Indicator
4. Current Record Indicator
5. Record
6. Field
7. List of Values Indicator
8. Descriptive Flexfield
9. Master-Detail Coordination
Box.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
You need not use a mouse to navigate the screens. Oracle provides Keyboard
Shortcuts for navigation.
From your HELP pull down menu, you can access the
KEYBOARD HELP screen. The screen is shown to the
left. It displays all the keyboard shortcuts available in
Oracle. Some of the most useful ones are:
Duplicate Field Shift+F5 (this copies the data from the record
field above)
Duplicate Record Shift+F6 (this copies the data from the record
above)
