The fabulous seasons of the year

Unit number: 3 Sessions: 5 Grade: Infant Education, 2n cycle (5 years old). Timing: From 11th of January to 27th of January. OBJECTIVES To know and to differentiate the four seasons of the year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. To work the pronunciation of the vocabulary corresponding to the Unit. To promote the work in group. To develop communicative abilities in English. To use the PC to learn and to familiarize itself with the English speech. CONTENTS 1. Listen, talk and converse Listening: listening to the poetry The train of four seasons of the year, while they looking the vocabulary at flashcards. Spoken production: repeating the poetry with the teacher. Spoken interaction: repeating and miming the poetry with the teacher. 2. Approximation to written language Reading: reading The train of four seasons of the year vocabulary. Writing: doing guided writing in a worksheet. 3. Approximation to literature Learning infantile poetry of The train of four seasons of the year. LANGUAGE Vocabulary: summer, sun, hot, beach, autumn, leaves, wind, winter, cold, snow, spring, flowers. Grammar: present simple. Phonetics: /a/ summer, sun, flowers. /i/ beach, leaves. Mathematical competence Doing a worksheet, in which, they have to do a mark, where it corresponds. And to identify the flash card's numbers with the numbers hung in the wall. And their personal artistic manifestations along the days. Learning to learn Working with the teacher's help and, after, working with their own initiative. Autonomy and personal initiative Doing the individual worksheets to act with self-autonomy. CROSS CURRICULAR ASPECTS Knowledge of themselves and personal autonomy Doing individual worksheets and doing mime representing the poetry. The physical, natural, social, and cultural environment With the seasons of the year, knowing the different temperatures (hot, cold,...), the weather's changes (to rain, to snow,...), environmental characteristics according to the seasons, etc. Languages: communication and representation Communicating in English in class.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA The assessment criteria of the unit The fabulous four seasons will be related to the progress of pupils in the learning on new knowledge of the seasons of the year. Will bear in mind the Knowledge that pupils had to the beginning of the unit and what they know later, when we finish it. Objectives To learn the vocabulary worked in the Unit. To know that the four seasons of the year are: spring, summer, autumn and winter. To difference the weather. To know other characteristics to every seasons of the year. To communicate in English in class. To understand to the teacher when she speak in English. To demonstrate interest for the activities that we have done. SESSIONS 1st Session: Listening Presentation: Listening to The train of four seasons of the yearvocabulary, while the teacher show them the flash cards. ( Anexo 1) Practice: Listening to the poetry The train of four seasons of the year, while the teacher does mime. ( Anexo 2) Production: Teacher will stick some pictures in the blackboard and for groups, children will stand up and indicate the words that teacher pronounces. 2nd Session: Listening and Speaking Presentation: Listening and repeating The train of four seasons of the year vocabulary. Practice: Listening, repeating and miming the poetry. Production: Teacher only will show them the poetry's vocabulary in flash cards and children have to say the corresponding word. 3rd Session: Listening, Speaking and Reading Presentation: Listening, repeating and reading The train of four seasons of the year vocabulary with the flash cards. Practice: Listening and reading the poetry The train of four seasons

of a year. Production: First, listening and repeating some words of the vocabulary. Second, read a worksheet to mark the words that they have listened and repeated before. 4th Session: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Presentation: Saying the poetry's vocabulary looking the flash cards and, after, reading the same vocabulary written in blackboard. Practice: Doing a worksheet with a guided writing, using The train of four seasons of the year vocabulary. Production: Doing a individual picture and writing the four words that more children have liked. 5th Session: Stations Station 1: Will have a station dedicated to theatre, where children will watch The train of four seasons of the year role play with puppet. Station 2: In a trunk, there will be different cloths and children will have to get out them and to classify them in the station of the class, dedicated to the seasons of the year. Children will have to say the name the season, where they put the cloth. Station 3: We will use flash cards with a number and a image and in the class will have numbers hung in the wall. Children will catch flash cards and will stick them on the wall in the correct number. ANEXO Anexo 1: flash cards

Anexo 2: the poetry The train of four seasons of the year The summer is yellow, that is the color of the sun. I am hot in the beach, but what delicious the lemon ice cream. Second is the autumn and I put brown color to paint the dry leaves, that the wind took away. Arrive the cold winter and I paint everything white, because white is the snow that covers all. The last is the spring and everything is multicolored, beautiful are the flowers and have good smell.
