Meter Pool Station (MPS)

Introduction
MPS collects Energy Datas from EDC Software in Text File Format for three Different Generating Sets Viz Gas Turbine 1 (GT1), Gas Turbine 2 (GT2) and Steam Turbine (ST) and convert the Data into blocks Viz Block1, Block2 and Blcok0 and Load the Block Data into MK6 Meters and Create the Data log files for Auditing. MPS also logs the Data into a Database for Secondary backup, using the MPS software as below.

The Schematic Diagram of the MPS is as below

How to Use
Setup This menu will be used to change the configuration parameters of the MPS. When this Menu is enabled MPS will automatically stop polling. Execute This menu is used to Instruct MPS to start polling. It has two sub Menus viz Manual and Auto. If selected to Manual the MPS will search immediately for the Raw Data from the Test file since the last block and perform other operations. If selection is made to Auto the MPS will automatically start polling the Data from the Raw Data text file at every 15th and 45th Min of an hour.

Database MPS uses Oracle Database for storing the Secondary Backup of the Raw Data and the Block Datas. This has two Sub Menus Backup This will be used to back up the Data from the Database. Select the Start time and End time of the Records for which the Report has to be prepared. This will produce a Text file in the Folder viz Data with the File Name same as Data type Selected. Eg. Raw Data, Block1, Block2, Block 0 and All. If all is selected the File will contain all the Dates viz Raw Data, Block1, Block 2, Block 0.

Delete This will be used to delete the Data from the Database. Select the Start time and End Time of the Record, which has to be deleted from the Database. Select the Appropriate data type, which has to delete viz Raw Data, Block1, and Block2, Block 0 and all. If all is selected then all the Data for the selected duration will be deleted. Log Files A Log File Named as MPS .txt will be Generated in the same folder where MPS is running. The Log file contains the following log Datas a. The Start /Stop Date time of the MPS b. All communication Errors raised with Meters during the time of Writing or Time Sync. c. Any Errors in Reading Text Files. d. Any Errors in the MPS software due to any other reasons like changes in configuration /Formats. e. The Change in configurations made in the setup screen of the interface. In addition to the above you can select the following in the Log View Combo Box. A. If Selected L&G 1. The Retry attempt to locate the Text file after a lapse of 15 Min i.e. after the lapse of processing time for the EDC to prepare the Text file. This retry will continue every second till the file is found and the entry will be made in the log file. 2. Raw Data as read from the Text file for the current block 3. The Error Description of the Status Fields of Raw Data as furnished in the Text File B. If Selected MK6 Meters 1. Data written to the Block1, Block2, Block0 Meters including all the Data. 2. Status of Operations on MK6 Meters like Time Sync etc after successful completion. C. If Selected All In addition to the above it will contain

Last Interval - Set the Last Interval to fill the Backlog data. Due to Error or other reasons if the MPS fails to collects data and updates the Block meters, this feature can be used to fill up the back log Data. First find out the last interval up to which the Data are available in the Block Meters and set this time as Last Interval. This time will be taken as reference starting time and the Data will be collected from this time Block onwards. Please ensure that EDC software is also setup to provide the Backlog data in Text File format. Number of Meters -Number of Meters in the Main Group or Check group Raw Data Folder - The System Folder where EDC provide the Raw Data file.

IP Address - Set the IP Address of the Communication server (COM server). If the Com server is located in the same PC then set the value as local host Port - Set the Port of the COM server. The Default Port is 6830 User Name - Set the User name for accessing the Com Server. Default value is Null Password - Set the Password for accessing the Com server. Default value is Null

EDMI Meters
All the Meters as available in the Main Group or Check Group will be seen in the Tree view. Select any Meter and right click and edit the Meter parameters. The following meter parameters shall be configurable. Enabled -Select enabled if the Meter Data is to be included in the Schedule. Select Disabled otherwise Survey Type - Select the Load Profile survey type as set up in the Meter Meter Name - Enter the Meter Name Meter type - Select the Meter type. Select MK3 for EDMI MK3 Meters and Select MK6 for EDMI MK6 Meters Meter Config. - Meter Configurations. Time Synchronize
There are two combo boxes available for the Time Synchronize. The Time Sync Meter is used to Set Meter time from the PC time. The Time Sync PC is used to set PC time from the Meter Time. The GPS clock time is taken as a reference time in the Main metering station PC and the all the EDMI Meters Viz Block1-Main, Block 2-Main, Block0-Main / Block1-Check, Block2-Check, Block0-Check are set. If the Time Sync Meter Mode is selected automatic than the Time Synchronize will take place once in a day at 23:00 Hours and all the MK6 Meters are sync with PC. If the Mode is selected in Manual, the time Sync of Meter is done manually at any time. Please note that The Time Sync will occur only if the Drift between the PC and MK6 meters is less then 5 Min. If the Time Sync PC Manual Mode is selected the PC time is synchronized with MK6 Meter. In this case the Block1 Main meter time as set by MSSL will be taken as reference and the PC time will be Set. Time Sync PC Automatic is not implemented. Please note that the Time Sync only affects the Polling time of the EDC software and the Polling time of the EDMI meters but the processed Meter Data are stamped with the FAG time as available in the text file.

Auditing
There are three folders contains data for Data Auditing Raw Data Processed - This folder contains the Text Files as furnished by L&G. To disable the Backing up of processed Raw Data as furnished by the EDC the RAW Data backup feature can be disabled in the setup. Data - This Folder contains a sub folder for Each Day. The Sub folders contains the Data file of the Raw Data and Calculated Block Data as processed by MPS Data Log - This Folder contains a Single file named as Main-DDMMYYYY.log or Check_DDMMYYYY.log and this file all the Raw Data and Block Data values in a single File.
