Definition of administrative law

Ivor Jennings:-

administrative law is the law relating to the administration. It determines the organization, powers and duties of the administrative authorities.

k.c.davis:

administrative law is the law that concerns the power and procedures of administrative agencies, including especially the law governing judicial review of administrative action.

Wade:

Administrative law is the law relating to the control of governmental power.

Prof. Upendra Baxi:

administrative law is a study of the pathology of power in a developing society.

Thus, administrative law may be define as that branch of public law which deals with the organization and powers of administrative and quasi-administrative agencies and prescribes principles and rules by which an official action is reached and reviewed in relation to individual liberty and freedom.
