Enterprise Architecture Delivery

Overall Responsibilities
This position will play a key role in providing technical leadership and produce architecture and high level design for the systems implementation projects that can be delivered to meet the business needs of the various Berkley operating companies while following the technology strategy of BTS systems. This person will be looked at as an expert in rules engine based technology solution implementations and batch systems automation using enterprise scheduler technologies.

Key Accountabilities
Working with application teams and project managers to define and document end to end technical solution that support the business requirements of the operating companies. Oversee and review the projects during development and implementation to ensure the alignment with architecture. Manage architecture development work across multiple projects in parallel. Provide thought leadership during initiate phase of any project to ensure the architectural constraints and principals as well as BTS systems strategy are taken into considerations upfront. Document Architectural and Design decisions and present them to the appropriate team members and leaders for review and approval. Maintain operational support, SLAs, availability, capacity, concurrency and system strategy through roadmap process on rules engine platform and enterprise scheduler platform. Contribute to the development of Architecture and Software Development methodologies, business systems strategy and roadmap definition. Maintaining a broad understanding of the systems BTS supports and how they support the various end to end business solutions required by the Berkley operating companies. 5-10% Travel Required

Experience
Required: Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills Property and Casualty Insurance Experience Informal Leadership Experience 10+ Years Information Technology Experience 5+ Years Integrating Real-Time Enterprise Systems

Preferred: ACORD models TOGAF Similar Architecture Development Framework RUP, Agile, or Other Formal Software Development Methodology
