Are videogames good for the brain?

This is one of the most controversial topics anyone would ever find. I mean, if you ask children they will probably say yes, but on the other hand, if you ask any adult or parent what he/she thinks about this topic, he/she will probably have a very different opinion, which could be of course not, videogames tear our childrens brain apart or no, videogames are just a waste of money and stuff like that. But the truth is that it depends on certain factors, which are the kind of videogame that is played, and obviously who plays it. On one side, they can be pretty disturbing for children, especially when the videogames are violent and bloody, and in the worst of the cases, after playing one of these videogames, children would like to make the things that are done in these games, so they can become aggressive or even violent. On the other side, some videogames are designed to improve or develop some skills on its players, like teamwork, problem solving abilities, etc. Of course it would be better if children achieved all these abilities playing sports or outside games. But whether you believe or not, videogames can be useful even for adults, for example: just a few years ago, a pilot school in Europe was giving credit to students that were trying to enter to it and were good at certain videogames, with the excuse that being good at videogames is a proof of having high hand-eye coordination and outstanding motor skills, which are needed in a pilot career. In conclusion, some videogames can be very bad in a lot of aspects, especially when they are played by children, but others can help their players in many different ways. Another good thing about videogames is that they can be used in some exams, like in the driving license exam (Mexico). Also its very probable that in the future everything would be full of technology, so playing videogames now can be helpful because players are commonly used to using technology. So, in general videogames are or arent good for peoples brain depending on the purpose for which they are used.
