In Cold Blood Questions

PART I:
1. Capote describes the town with a very melancholy, sad tone. I think he does this to create a sort of calm before the storm mood. Also it reminds the reader that events such as the Clutter family murder can happen anywhere. 2. Capote depicts Nancy as a typical all-American girl. His description idolizes her as a perfect traditional woman when she is making pie and sewing her own gown. 3. None of the details about Mr. Clutter are important. Here, capote is fooling the audience because these items do not show up as part of the crime. 4. Perry is in chronic pain, and seems a little slow. Dick is in control. 5. Dick is clearly dominant over Perry, who is slow minded. Nonfiction works are prose writing based on facts, such as biographies, or in this case a report. 6. It wouldnt have been possible for Capote to know what Nancy did to prepare for bed that night, nor could he know about Mr. Clutters thoughts about Kenyon. Delving into the thoughts of characters is typical of fiction. 7. Capote goes from tense to intense. The next tone is sweet. He wants the reader to feel sympathy towards Kenyon.

8. The only proof we have is the fact that Capote did interview several people involved in the event, and we hope he used his best judgment when depicting the thoughts of the victims to give them more dimension. 9. The intended audiences are mature, educated adults. He also has attracted Literary critics because of his unorthodox style, as well as the fact that this work was the first of its kind.
