Rationale Contents Todays fast paced world demands that development officials need to practice effective management.

It is said that around 60 to 70 per cent of any organizations potential effectiveness goes unrealized due to lack of best practices in Human Resource Development. Development Organizations eagerly looking to enhance officials functional and behavioral competencies to multiply their efficient and effective functioning. Middle level management who equipped with such skills report achievements as: Cross-functional team alignment, flexible, adaptive and also focused, disciplined, accountable, improved free flowing and value adding official-public communication. Ultimately, it helps for accurate development of each employees full potential in the development organization. This is an unique course based on experiential learning, where in the participants will analyze and understand the nature and genesis of the process and principles of Human Resource Development . It intends to empower the participants to face world and remain neutral while navigating towards a positive outcome Objectives Identifying the parameters of HRD and setting performance standards Identifying competencies and competency gaps that influence performance Understand the role of training and development. Explain the strategies for positive attitude at work & culture in motivational sustenance Understand role of communication and conflicts at work environment Understand Leadership competencies and Change initiations To discuss individual / organizational blocks which hinder the Creativity The programme will be of 4 weeks duration and divided into two parts. Part 1 will be of three weeks duration in which the participants will get clear understanding of concept of HRD and its role and application. There will be five Modules of different HR components. Module -1 (Basics of HRD in Contemporary Development) a. Organizational change and development, b. Human Resource Audit, c. Psychometrics Module 2 (Organizational & Development) a. Attitude and Behavioral Change, b. Team Building & Leadership, c. Conflict Management & Negotiations. Module-3 (Training & Development) a. Systematic Approach to Training, b. Training Needs Analysis, c. Evaluation of Training. Module-4 (Performance Management System) a. Performance Planning & Analysis, b. Performance Review Discussion, c. Performance Development. Module-5 (Strategic Talent Management) a. Competency Mapping, b. Knowledge Management, c. Talent Transformation. Part II of the Programme will be of one week duration in which the participants will be taken for field visit to study the best practices in the area of HRD in different States of India. Training Methods The course will have interactive sessions, case presentations, individual and small group assignments etc.

Medium of Instruction International participants should be graduate and above and should be fluent in English. Participants The training Programme is primarily designed for senior and middle level Development personnel from Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Industries, Education and Human Resource Development, Local Self Governing and Senior Personnel from Training and Research Organizations engaged in Rural Development activities. Participant should be below 55 years. Duration 21st November 18th December, 2012 (Four Weeks) Participants are requested to bring information about their country and development programmes in a form of country profile. The participants are advised to reach the Institute a day or two prior to the commencement of the programme. Venue The programme will be conducted at the National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, India. It is fully residential with good board and lodging facilities.
