3. Course Structure:

Additional information Participants are expected to attend all scheduled lessons. Regardless of the reason, participants may have no more than 3 un-excused absences before their course is affected. Each un-excused absence after 3 will lower the participants course score by 10%. This is mandatory policy--there will be no exceptions to this rule and attendance will be taken on a daily basis. Additionally, participants are expected to come to class prepared to participate in the lesson and take notes. At a minimum, participants should bring to every class a notebook and a pen or pencil. Finally participants who have special needs related to poor eyesight, learning disabilities, or any similar issue should contact the instructor at the beginning of the course so that arrangements can be made to provide the necessary assistance.

4. Course Description:

Course presents factors to be considered by those interested in office management on local government. The content for Office Management for Municipal Staff relates to the knowledge, understanding and skills that managers need to function in the workplace in the 21st Century.

5. Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be familiar with most of the following: 1. The supervisors special role, management concepts, and management functions 2. Communication, managing change and stress, human motivation, building relationships with individuals, supervising groups, and leadership and management styles
