1. D. EBLOCK PROJECT EBlock India is a unit of the Auroville Earth Institute.

It aims of producing, promoting and selling high quality CSEB. It aims at replacing country fired bricks on the mainstream market. - Firstly in the bioregion of Auroville - Secondly in various regions of India

EBLOCK GOALS 1. To develop a network of producers by: - Helping people in villages to open their own profitable units. - Training and empowering local unskilled labour to manage production units. 2. To develop a network of customers by: - Advertising EBlocks - Proposing a whole range of products - Ensuring the quality of blocks with regular quality controls with the producers - Following the customers satisfaction 3. To develop the technique and product: - Researching on motorized equipment - Comparing products competitive to CSEB, i.e. fired bricks, concrete blocks, etc. 4. To obtain carbon credit accreditation: - Revenue will go to the various producers

EBlock is giving franchise to producers of the network: - They become independent producers, benefitting from EBlock customers network (in return for the compliance with EBlock quality standards) - Three production units are presently working in the Auroville bioregion.

Production at Moratandi Quality control at Moratandi Stock of blocks at EBlock is developing different tools & packages for setting up units : Realization - An Integrated Management Tool for CSEB Production, Inventory, Orders, Accounts, Quality Control It will be online and accessible for everybody by 2011. - Economic Tool for CSEB production: It allows doing cost calculations and economic feasibility study before starting. - User and quality control manual for the production of CSEB - Flyers, logo, banners, advertisement emails, posters
