How to apply?

Candidates applying for PGCET 2012 should apply only through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website: http://kea.kar.nic.in/ Before the final submission of the Online Application, the candidates should have scanned image of their (a) Recent Photograph (b) Signature (c) Fee Paid Bank Acknowledged Challan, and (d) Left Hand Thumb Fingerprint, in a CD/DVD/Pen drive as per their convenience. These documents will be required for uploading and the final submission of your Online Application. A valid E-mail and Mobile Number is mandatory for the submission of your Online Application. This EMail should be kept active till the declaration of results. KEA will send important information with regard to your application and examination on this registered E-Mail/Mobile Number . Please note that after the final submission all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Course Applied, Category, Date of Birth, Addres,Email ID, Choice of City for Examination etc. will be considered as Final and NO further modifications will be allowed by the system nor entertained by the KEA office. After receiving your PGCET ID and Password on mail you will not be able to edit certain fields of the Online Application. Candidates are hence requested to fill in the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. Step 1 Candidate are first required to go to the KEA website http://kea.kar.nic.in/ and click on the link Submission of Online Application for PGCET 2012 Step 2 You will be directed to PGCET 2012 Main Page. Make a note of the Important Dates. Step 3 Click on Apply Online and fill your (a) Personal Details (b) Course Details (c) Qualification Details, and (d) Declarations. The Notes, Instructions and Important Links on each page will guide you to fill the application accurately. Please read them carefully. Step 4 On successful submission of the above details listed in Step 3, you will receive your PGCET ID and Password through an automated E-Mail on your registered e-mail address. With this PGCET ID and Password you can View your partially submitted application, Edit your application information (except some fields), Download your uniquely generated bank challan for paying the exam fees Upload the mandatory documents like (a) Scanned Photograph, (b) Signature, (c) Fee paid Details with Bank acknowledged challan, and Print for the FINAL submission of your application. Note : 1) Receiving of your PGCET ID and Password does not complete the Application Filling Process. 2) Subsequent to receiving your PGCET ID and Password, you will not be able to edit your Name, Course Selected ,Category, Email and Mobile Number. In Case you need to change these fields then you will have repeat Step 1 to 3 and obtain a new PGCET ID and Password.

Step 5 On the PGCET 2012 Home Page and using the PGCET ID and Password which you received on your E-Mail , Click on Fees and Challan Download . Download and Print your uniquely generated Bank Challan (pdf file) which will be printed with your Name, Challan Reference Number and Amount . This Bank challan will be in triplicate copies marked as Bank Copy, KEA Copy and Candidate Copy Note :Your Bank Challan is a uniquely generated document which is pre-filled with your Name, Challan Reference Number and the Fees payable . Please do not use any other challan like using your friends challan and/or photocopying any other candidates challan and/or using the challans available at the banks, etc. to pay your fees. KEA will not entertain your request for reconciliation in this regard. Step 6 Pay the relevant fees in cash at All Branches of SBM and designated branches of SBH. The detailed addresses of the banks which will accept the payments has been listed in the Note. The Bank will retain the Bank Copy and will give you back the acknowledged copies of KEA Copy and Candidate Copy. Please safe keep the KEA Copy as this will be required to be presented to KEA during counseling/seat selection. The Bank will also mention the Bank Branch Code and the Jounal Number on the KEA Copy and Candidate Copy. From the bank where you made the payment please make a note of the (a) Journal Number, (b) Date of Payment and (c) Bank Branch Code as you will require to upload this information in your Online Application for the Final Submission. Step 7 On the PGCET 2012 Main Page and using the PGCET ID and Password which you received on your EMail, click on Upload Documents for Final Submission . Upload the scanned image of your (a) Photograph (b) Signature (c) Paid Bank Challan (Candidate Copy) and (d) Left Hand Thumb Fingerprint, from your CD/DVD/Pen drive as stored per your convenience. Note: This is also one last chance for you to edit the information in your application except you will not be able to edit your Name, Course Selected, Reserved Category, Email and Mobile Number. Step 8 Finally submit your application and receive the Application Successfully Submitted message. You can now only View and/or Print your submitted Online Application. Step 9 On the PGCET -2012 Main Page and using the PGCET ID and Password which you received on your E-Mail, check on your submitted application for all the fields filled and documents loaded by you. Click on Application Print . Keep a copy of the submitted application for your reference and safe keep. You will need to carry this copy during counseling.
