Center for Career and Professional Development at Pace Law

By Teresa Cajot At the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) at Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York, the experienced staff members provide students, alumni, and employers with a range of career development services. Individual counseling sessions, recruiting events, and informational programs are just some of the services offered by the centers legal professionals.

Rachel Littman, the Assistant Dean for Career and Professional Development and External Relations, counsels students and alumni and also handles the centers career advancement programs. Prior to joining the CCPD, Littman was an Adjunct Professor at Pace Law, where she taught Criminal Law/Legal Analysis and Writing to first year students. She has also worked for the international law firm of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy. Littman holds a JD from Seton Hall University School of Law and a BA in Art History from Yale University. The Private Sector & Judicial Clerkship Advisor, Stephanie Golden, provides students with information on various legal employment opportunities, as well as specialized programming. The Virginia School of Law graduate facilitates the Pace University ABCNY Fellowship interview and nomination program and advises students in connection with internship and clerkship opportunities all kinds. Jennifer C. Friedman, Director of the Public Interest Law Center, handles funding issues in connection with public interest summer internships and advises students and alumni on public interest opportunities. She is also in charge of the Pro Bono Justice Program. Prior to joining Pace Law, Friedman founded and directed Sanctuary for Families Courtroom Advocates Project (CAP). She holds a JD from Columbia Law School. Andrea Putnam, the Program Manager of the Public Interest Law Center, performs a variety of duties in the Public Interest Law Center, including counseling. She has worked in the Appeals Bureau of the Kings County District Attorneys Office as a Senior Assistant District Attorney and at the Northern Westchester Shelter as the Director of the Domestic Violence Legal Project. Putnam holds a JD from Emory Law School.

Nicole Moncayo, the Director of Employer and External Relations Strategic Professional Development Initiatives, is responsible for coordinating the schools recruitment programs and the winter career fair, handling the online database management system, and collecting the NALP Employment Survey. The CCPD also relies on her for financial and human resource issues. Moncayo is a Pace Law School graduate. As the Assistant Director for Counseling and Professional Development, Elyse Moskowitz advises students and graduates, develops career guides, coordinates career programs, and maintains the fellowship calendar. Before joining Pace Law in 2001 as an Adjunct Professor of Law, she taught Legal Practice Skills at Suffolk Law School in Boston. She is a Fordham Law School graduate. Lisa Lancia, the centers International Careers Advisor, assists students and alumni in identifying and developing the necessary skills for a career in international law. She also reaches out to international JD and LLM students and works with international employers to promote job opportunities for Pace Law students. Lancia joined the law school in 2003 after holding positions within the United Nations including a legal and administrative officer in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Zagreb, Croatia; with the Department of Peacekeeping Operations in Geneva, Switzerland; and with the Compensation Commission. She earned her JD from the Washington College of Law at American University. Diane Fennel, the Coordinator of Job Postings and Reciprocity and the OSCAR Administrator and Christopher Gentry, the Recruitment Coordinator, also provide vital services to the CCPD.
