PRAYER AND PRAISE

Please pray that our elders would lead WHAC faithfully and effectively this coming year. Please pray that all facets of the new childcare would be done with excellence, and be pleasing to the Lord. Please pray for the Uni students of WHAC. Often times, these young people go through significant challenge and persecution. Pray that their faith and witness would be brilliant, bright and strong. Please pray Barry Thomas' parents. His mother has just recently come home from hospital, but his dad is currently fighting a virus. Pray also for the family, as they seek to care for them. Please pray for Frazer Noble as he works to complete his PhD studies in the coming months. Please pray that the Lord bless us with patience and tolerance while the renovations of the church are taking place. Pray for an Envision team that is in Burkina to conduct an English camp at a Christian high school. Pray for good health, safety, and effective ministry. Pray that the gospel will be clearly presented and that people will respond in faith.

NEWS
Sunday School during the renovations We love our kids... we love your kids... and we want to keep them around as long as possible. And so, in the interest of safety, from 29 July, Sunday School for ages 3-13 will be held at Phyllis Charlton's home (22 Tatyana Place) from 10:15am 11:45am. Parents are welcome to drop their children off, or to stay and help them settle for as long as necessary. Once the hall is safe for our kids, Sunday School (and Phyllis!) will return to the facility! Renovation Update As you will have noticed, the renovations are well underway. It is unfortunate that during this time there will be some inconveniences that will need to be worked through. One of those things that will be affected will be the morning tea after the service. At the present moment, there are no kitchen facilities or running water, which, on the plus side, means that we won't have to do any dishes, but on the down side, means that our morning teas will be a bit lighter for the coming months. There are also no toilet facilities, but we have some port-a-loos available for the "wild at heart!" The choir is coming, the choir is coming! Next week we will be taking time to thank God, in a special way, for His care and blessings in our lives. As part of this special weekend, the WHAC choir will be taking part in our morning service, and if you would like to join the fabulous, growing choir, please see Sean Jung. We are meeting today after the service. And please note: No previous experience is necessary!

Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). A few weeks ago, some bad thunderstorms in the area left my house without electricity for almost 24 hours. These kinds of power outages usually happen once or twice a year, so were always prepared with plenty of flashlights and batteries. From trying to remember not to flip on light switches out of habit to strategizing which windows to open to get the optimal breeze going, it really makes you appreciate the electricity we usually take for granted. If youve ever stumbled through the darkness in the middle of the night trying to locate a flashlight, you understand what Im saying. Psalm 119:105 likens the Word of God to a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Like a flashlight is crucial for finding your way through a room full of obstacles in the middle of the night during a power outage, the Bible is the all-sufficient guide given to us by God for navigating our lives in a dark world. In and of itself, it contains everything we need to know in order to have faith in God, repent, receive salvation, and live a life pleasing to Him. It teaches us right and wrong, shows us the difference between true and false doctrines, and reveals the character and nature of God. All Scripture, as 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Just as a flashlight helps us find our way through the dark, the Word of God is our resource to direct us in all ways in our Christian lives. Not only does it guide our steps in the right path, but it shows us how to avoid the wrong way, and we should never set out without it. BIRTHDAYS COMING UP .....

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN at WHAC

Ages 37 Ages 8 13 Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. During the renovation period the Sunday School lessons will take place at Phyllis Charlton's home (22 Tatyana Place, Massey) from 10:15am 11:45am. All the children are invited to join in. We would like to thank parents for dropping off and picking up their children. If the children are more comfortable staying with their parents, they are also welcome to remain in the service.
