Area Store Manager (ASM)

Overview: The ASMs key purpose is to manage the overall iPhone business in his assigned territory Responsibilities: Responsible for the sales development in his territory Build influential and collaborative business relationships with the retailers store management and sales teams in order to ensure: Appropriate business management is achieved at store level (e.g. supply, demand, forecast, ST evolution, etc.) Appropriate time is scheduled and dedicated to building Apple knowledge and selling skills. Implements sales target at Store level Acts as the first point of contact for channel for any sales/commercial issues Implements schemes/incentives/promotions to drive tertiary sales Monitors channel stock levels and ensures product availability Focuses on developing newer point of sales and wider availability of iPhone across the channel Manages iPhone Sales Specialist (iPSS) performance at the outlet level Ensures BTL tactics/activities are properly implemented at the store level Build a virtual team across the stores enabling them to effectively promote and sell iPhone based solutions. Coach and develop store staffs knowledge of the product features, benefits and selling solutions for iPhone through: Interactive workshops e.g. team meetings, one-to-ones, small groups. Practical in-store demonstration. Monitor and ensure that the merchandising and the maintenance of the in-store iPhone display units and other POS promotional material meet or exceed Apples brand and channel marcom standards. Provide a regular update to their manager on the performance of their territory including Store Sell in, Sell Out, potential business challenges and issues related to maintenance and merchandising within their assigned stores. Report back to their manager on in-store competition and ranging to ensure that store and competitor information is kept up to date. Key Criteria for Selecting Candidates: Persuasive, charismatic, engaging and confident communication skills.

Ability to network and influence with store staff and management teams across multiple locations. Ambition and career drive. Ability to translate techno-speak into laymans terms. Adaptive and solutions based approach to selling. Experience of working in retail. Ability to work autonomously. Prepared to travel 5 days per week. High level of ethics, values, integrity and trust. Flexible and adaptable approach to work. People development or coaching experience. Informal or formal staff management experience. Good English language skills (written and spoken). Desirable attributes: 4-5 years sales experience, 18 months minimum in a supervisory role A telecom or consumer electronics background. Graduate, MBA preferred Multi-site management experience Key Performance Indicators: Business monitoring - Sales Targets - iPhones and Accessories in his allocated stores) - iPhone Sales Specialist Productivity & No of customer demos/interactions Apple product and sales knowledge of the iPhone Sales Specialist and within the retailers sales teams (virtual team development) Merchandising Norms including both POSM and product display units should continuously meet Apples merchandising standards.
