Description :

This certification course is specially designed for Personal Trainer and those who interest in Exercise Ball. The content involves basic training principle of Exercise Ball, basic / advance exercises of Exercise Ball, spotting techniques of Exercise Ball, and the Exercise Ball usage in special population like back pain patient, pre/post natal of pregnancy women, sedentary workers and elite athletes. The course will mainly run in practical format, in order to let the students to acquire the correct, effective usage of Exercise Ball, and organize Exercise Ball training class. This course is suitable for all Athletes, Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors and Fitness Professionals as well as fitness enthusiasts A total of 15 hours 10 sessions plus 2 hrs practical exam. and 1 hr theory exam. Contents : - Introduction of Exercise Ball - Core stability and its clinical importance - Principle of usage of Exercise Ball - Basic usage of Exercise Ball - Exercise prescription and progression principle - Usage of Exercise Ball with other equipments - Exercise Ball in group exercise - Advance usage of Exercise Ball - Exercise Ball in special population sedentary workers, elite athletes - Exercise Ball in special population pre/post natal exercise, back pain patient

About the Lecturers

MR. JACKY LEUNG


MSports Physio (Curtin, Aust), B.Sc. (Hons) Physio (PolyU, HK), Exercise Specialist (ACSM, US), RPT (HK)

Jacky Leung is the Center Manager of the Asian Fitness Therapy Center (AFTC) and a lecturer at AASFP. He is a Registered Physiotherapist in HK, having graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy. In 2005, he pursued his Masters Degree in Sports Physiotherapy and Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia. Besides obtaining the Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer certification (AASFP), he was granted the Exercise Specialist title from American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). He has also attended the Team Physician Advanced Course and the Manipulative Management Course of Spinal Related Diseases held by the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College respectively. He was invited as a team physiotherapist for the Hong Kong team in the 2002 Asian Games for the Disabled in Busan and the 2003 All China Games for the Disabled in Nanjing. His areas of interest include Sports Injury Management, Manipulative Therapy, Sports Massage, Exercise Science and Exercise Ball Exercise Application etc. MS. MICHELLE LAM
AASFP Program Manager, B. Physio (Hons), BASITM Faculty Member, RPT (HK, Aust.)

Michelle Lam is the Program Manager and lecturer at AASFP. Michelle is a Registered Physiotherapist in Hong Kong and Australia, having obtained her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) from the University of Melbourne. She is an AASFP-certified Advanced Personal Trainer, an AASFP/FISAF-certified Group Exercise & Aerobic Instructor, Pilates and Exercise Ball Instructor. Besides being a private Physiotherapist specializing in Sports Injuries, Michelle is a part-time lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kongs Adult Learning Center - responsible for sports-related courses including Sports Injuries Management and Prevention, Sports Massage, and Weight Management Program. Michelle has extensive experience as a Group Exercise Instructor and she currently works as an Aerobics, Pilates and Exercise Ball instructor in one of the biggest fitness chains in Hong Kong. In 2005, she was invited to be a Pilates and Exercise Ball Presenter in the 2005 AASFP Conference in Beijing. In 2006, Michelle was personally instructed by the founder and president of BASITM, Rael Isacowitz. Michelle is now a BASITM Faculty Member, enabling her to instruct BASITM Pilates Certification courses worldwide.
