CAMARILLO BANTAM BLUE PARENT CONTRACT 2012 The Camarillo Roadrunner Youth Football Program is a volunteer, non-profit organization

that provides the student athletes in Camarillo with an ageappropriate youth football program. We will promote the values of responsibility, commitment, sportsmanship and teamwork in a safe and positive athletic environment. Our program provides for the development of good football fundamentals through the leadership and guidance of qualified instruction. Our goal is to help create years of memories and friendships and to support our young athletes as they grow towards becoming responsible young adults in our community. Through fundamental instructions associated with youth tackle football and cheerleading we strive to foster and maintain the core values of Wellness, Honesty, Loyalty, Integrity, Discipline, Respect, Sportsmanship and Commitment. We strongly encourage our coaching staffs and volunteer parents to provide a responsible environment that demonstrates these core values off the field and insist that they consistently demonstrate these core values during practices and games; in victory or in defeat. In order to maintain an atmosphere where these goals can be accomplished we have developed this parent contract. Your receipt of this contract indicates you agree to the rules and regulations as described in the Pacific Youth Football league Bylaws. You further agree to abide by the following list of expectations. I therefore agree: I will not force my child to participate in sports. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others. I will learn and honor the rules of the game and the policies of the league. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; physical contact; or using profane language or gestures. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes, coaches, spectators, or officials. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability. I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time. I will never ridicule or yell at my child, other participant, officials, coaches, or spectators for making a mistake or losing a competition. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also deemphasize games and competition in the lower age groups.

I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win. I will respect the officials & coaches and their authority during games or practices and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches or officials at the game field. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events. I understand: Playing time and position assignments are determined by the coaching staff, and is regulated by the league bylaws. The ultimate decision is made by the head coach, who understands the bylaws, but is also charged with ensuring fairness and the safety of the players. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure their athletes arrive at practice, games and all scheduled PYFL events on time and properly equipped for the activity. Missing numerous August practice sessions will result in an athlete being considerably behind the team and may result in the player not being allowed to participate in games during the beginning of the season due to safety concerns. Also missing multiple practices sessions during the week of a regular season game will also result in the player being unable to participate in that weeks game due to unpreparedness which in itself is a safety concern. Parents shall remain in the stands or off the field during games and practices unless permission to enter the field of play has been given by the coaching staff. Communication Channels: Communication regarding an athletes playtime, position, discipline, tactics or any other team related activity shall be directed to the head coach either directly or through the team parent. The assistant coaches are charged with preparing game plans, coaching the athletes and executing practice/game assignments. All playtime and position assignment is preapproved by the head coach. Communication between a parent and the coaching staff without approval of the head coach will have a 0% impact on any decision made by the coaching staff. All communication shall be done in a professional manner. Under no circumstance should it turn into a personal attack on any person, it should stick to the root of the problem. Above all, I will remember that this is a youth league ran by volunteers with the intentions of providing community youth with a positive, safe, educational experience with the game of football. I understand that failure to follow the rules and guidelines set herein may result in disciplinary action that may include removal from games and practices. By signing this form I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and will abide by this contract as well as the rules and policies of the Pacific Youth Football League. Your child will not be allowed to participate in any PYFL activities until this is signed by both parents and/or guardians and returned to the Pee Wee Blue Staff.
