INFORMATION

I, Daniel T. Satterberg, Prosecuting Attorney for King County in the name and by the authority of the State of Washington, do accuse SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT of the crime of Rape in the First Degree, committed as follows: That the defendant SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT in King County, Washington, on or about August 16, 2012, by forcible compulsion did engage in sexual intercourse with another person named M.P. (DOB 3/23/88), under circumstances where the defendant feloniously entered into the apartment where M.P. (DOB 3/23/88) was situated; Contrary to RCW 9A.44.040(1)(d), and against the peace and dignity of the State of Washington. COUNT II And I, Daniel T. Satterberg, Prosecuting Attorney aforesaid further do accuse SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT of the crime of Burglary in the First Degree, a crime of the same or similar character and based on a series of acts connected together with another crime charged herein, which crimes were part of a common scheme or plan, and which crimes were so closely connected in respect to time, place and occasion that it would be difficult to separate proof of one charge from proof of the other, committed as follows:

That the defendant SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT in King County, Washington, on or about August 16, 2012, did enter and remain unlawfully in a building located at 133 NE 112th Street , apartment number 133, Seattle, in said county and state, with intent to commit a crime against a person or property therein, and in entering, and while in such building and in immediate flight therefrom, the defendant did assault a person, to-wit: M.P. (DOB 3/23/88); Contrary to RCW 9A.52.020, and against the peace and dignity of the State of Washington. And I, Daniel T. Satterberg, Prosecuting Attorney for King County in the name and by the authority of the State of Washington further do accuse the defendant SIR STEPHENDANIEL HUNT of commission of this crime with sexual motivation, that is: that one of the purposes for which the defendant committed this crime was for the purpose of his sexual gratification, under the authority of RCW 9.94A.835. COUNT III And I, Daniel T. Satterberg, Prosecuting Attorney aforesaid further do accuse SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT of the crime of Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, a crime of the same or similar character and based on a series of acts connected together with another crime charged herein, which crimes were part of a common scheme or plan, and which crimes were so closely connected in respect to time, place and occasion that it would be difficult to separate proof of one charge from proof of the other, committed as follows: That the defendant SIR STEPHEN-DANIEL HUNT in King County, Washington, on or about August 14, 2012, by forcible compulsion did attempt to engage in sexual intercourse with another person, named M.M. (DOB 9/5/91); attempt as used in the above charge means that the defendant committed an act which was a substantial step towards the commission of the above described crime with the intent to commit that crime; Contrary to RCW 9A.28.020 and RCW 9A.44.050(1)(a), and against the peace and dignity of the State of Washington. CAUSE NO. 12-1-04636-7 SEA PROSECUTING ATTORNEY CASE SUMMARY AND REQUEST FOR BAIL AND/OR CONDITIONS OF RELEASE The State incorporates by reference the Certification for Determination of Probable Cause written by Detective D. Stangeland in Seattle Police Department Incident Number 12272391 and signed on August 21, 2012. REQUEST FOR BAIL The State requests bail in the amount of $500,000, pursuant to CrR 2.2 (b)(2)(i), (ii), (iii), and (iv). The amount set at first appearance was $150,000. The defendant is an extreme danger to the community and likely to commit another violent offense if released. At the time of First Appearance, the defendant was held on investigation of Rape and Burglary on victim M.P. During the course of that investigation it was learned that the defendant also attempted to forcibly rape victim M.M., the day before he raped M.P. It was also learned that he attempted to sexually assault another woman, N.T. the day before that. That assault resulted in defendant being arrested and currently charged in Seattle Municipal Court. The defendant was released from the King County Jail on the N.T. assault case on August 16, 2012, at 13:03 hours and committed the violent rape against victim M.P. four hours later. The State also requests a no contact order be issued for the protection of M.P. and M.M. Victim M.P. is terrified of the defendant and lives on the same floor of his apartment building, although she is currently staying elsewhere.
