OPENING DATE: 09/07/12 CLOSING DATE: 09/24/12 05:00 PM DESCRIPTION: The Employment and Career Development Division (ECDD) is looking for an effective leader ready to make an impact in the Seattle-King County community by administering the Employment Security Departments employment, training, and performance management programs in this Workforce Development Area (WDA). This Area Director position provides leadership and guidance to accomplish the agency and Workforce Development Council (WDC) mission. Through strategic planning and operational proficiency, the ideal candidate will help maintain a viable WorkSource system in the SeattleKing County WDA. This is done through the administration of policy and programs such as implementation of strategic goals, negotiating and developing service/program contracts, planning and administering human resource transactions, maintaining and developing effective partnerships (with the business sector, local government agencies, labor, community based organizations, etc), administering an annual budget (including responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs) to procure outside funding), managing local contracts and resource sharing agreements, interagency agreements, leases, etc. The best candidate for this position will develop ESD staff and volunteers in order to facilitate leadership and strengthen ESDs services to Washington State citizens. Collaboration with stakeholders, the ability to hold people accountable, and the drive to meet performance standards are key talents to bring to the Area Director position.
