Ans: Organizations that successfully adopt new Information Technology recognize the successful introduction and adoption of IT. IT plays an important role in the management of any organization by providing the following services: Computer hardware mainframe computers, servers, laptops. Computer software operating systems and application for performing various functions. Networks, Related Components, and above given items in an organization is its IT Infrastructure. The IT infrastructure is integrated with employees and procedures to build operate and support Information systems. By using IT in an Organization, it results in: 1. Increasing Revenue. 2. Reducing Costs. 3. Improving Decision Making. 4. Encounter Customer Relationships. 5. Speed up the time [marketing]. Example: ABC and DEF organizations want to interact with each other and want to share their information among each other. When the IT was not included in the organization it used to take a long time to send and receive the information by letters or by other mediums and in many cases the information

was of no use till it was received. But as the IT is included in organizations, now ABC and DEF can easily use IT services to share their information through e-mail, web conferencing and many other ways. This tells us that how IT plays an important role in the management of any organization. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Q.2) Frame out the difference between the enterprise IT and network IT by taking suitable examples to explain the difference? Ans: ENTERPRISE IT Enterprise IT includes information system that organization use to define interactions among their own employees and with external customers, suppliers and other business partners. Example: TPS, ERP, Inter organizational information system, EDI. In case of Enterprise IT there is no compulsion of web. One can use web also in case of TPS. For example one have to share information then it is to be shared across business functions and all level of management. NETWORK IT Network IT includes information systems that improve communications and support collaboration among a members of a workgroup. Example: Wikipedia, Web Conferencing, Electronic corporate directories. In case of the Network IT all the services are provided with the help of web only. For example in this case one can directly contact to other by using web services like video conferencing and many more.

Q.3) IT has influenced the functioning of managers managing any organization. Comment on the statement by taking suitable examples?

Ans: Yes, IT has influenced the functioning of managers managing any organization, today in any organization every manager is using IT and the one who is not using is not so successful in their field. IT has made such a good effect over the organizations environment that if it is used effectively one can make large amount of profits from it. Managers must able to understand how technology affects their industry and the world at large. Managers have three critical responsibilities when it comes to capturing the real benefits from IT: 1. Identifying appropriate IT opportunities. 2. Smoothing the way for its successful introduction. 3. Mitigating its associated risks. Example: Today any type of transaction, managing the finance or accounts, storing and sharing of information or a delivery of any product, all are being done by using the IT services. Managers are using IT for benefits. Strategic planning is extensively needed in the functioning of an IT company or any other organization because it helps managers identify desired outcomes and formulate feasible plans to achieve their objectives by using available resources and capabilities. Strategic planning must take into account that the organization and everything around it is changing: A consumer like and dislikes change. Old competitors leave and new one entered marketplace. The cost and availability of raw materials and labor fluctuate. The degree of industry and government regulation changes.

Example: If an IT company or any other organization wants to make software or any product, then also it uses the strategic planning to achieve the more effective results by defining the vision of the organization, identifying the objectives and goals that support the vision and setting strategies to achieve the goal and identify the initiatives and project. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Q.5) Project management is the most fundamental area for the functioning of an organization. How and why? Take suitable examples and explain the various parameters. Ans: Project management is the most fundamental area for the functioning of an organization as it helps in managing the projects as a way to achieve an edge over competitors and deliver greater value to shareholders and customers. Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Project managers must attempt to deliver a solution that meets specific scope, cost, time, and quality goals while managing the expectations of the project stakeholders, the people involved in the project or those affected by its outcome.

Example: ABC Organization is starting a project, before starting the project the organization will use the all parameters of project management to have good results: Scope must be carefully defined to ensure that the project meets its essential objectives. Cost is the solid parameter in the project management which includes all the capital, expenses and internal cross charges. The timing of a project, which is frequently a critical constraint. The degree to which the project meets the needs of its users. [QUALITY] Last but not the least, user expectations about how the project will be conducted and how it will affect them. Ans: PROJECT MANAGEMENT AREA Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Project managers must attempt to deliver a solution that meets specific: Scope , Cost, Time, Quality, User expectations Scope Management, Time Management Cost Management, Quality Management KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AREA According to the project management institute, project managers must coordinate nine areas of expertise, including:-

Goals while managing the expectations of the project stakeholders, the people involved in the project or those affected by its outcome. These above given are the five highly interrelated parameters defined in a project management area.

Human Resources Management, Communications Management, Risk Management, Procurement Management, Integration Management These above given nine areas are used in managing the cost, scope, quality, risk, communication, procurement, integration, time, HR and the manager must have the knowledge about how to manage them all used in a project. EXAMPLE: ABC organization As the ABC organization is started with the project, the managers must have knowledge of managing these nine areas as required in the project.
