COMMUNICATION ANTENNAS
Mag-mount Antennas help with LTE 700 MHz Network Development
Schiller Park, IL, August 30, 2012 There is still a place today for the tried and true Mag-mount Antenna. Lets face it; no one wants to be stuck with a hole in a vehicle if there is no ongoing need for a surface mount antenna. As new systems are rolled out, many network developers like to test out the network with a temporary mount antenna, such as a mag-mount antenna, that can be easily move from vehicle to vehicle. They used this to check the reception quality on network as it is rolled out. Hardware manufacturers and system integrators often used Mag-mount Antennas to provide customers with a demonstration, or even a short-term trial, of a new wireless solution. Since many Cellular networks now include the LTE 700 MHz band from 694-806 MHz, mag-mount antennas are needed that cover the LTE band. Michael Berry, President of Mobile Mark, explains that the wireless coverage challenge doesnt end there: The new cellular modems operate on the established 850 & 1900 MHz Cellular bands but most have added some combination of new bands as they move into 4G offerings: the new LTE 700 MHz band, AWS bands at 1.7 & 2.1 GHz and sometimes the WiMAX/LTE band at 2.5-2.7 GHz. Modems equipped to handle all these protocols need permanent mount and temporary mount (such as magmount) antennas that will operate on the same frequencies bands. Mobile Marks broadband antennas operate on all critical US Cellular bands: 694-894 MHz as well as 1.7-2.7 GHz. Mobile Marks MGRM-WLF Broadband Mag-Mount Antenna covers 694-2700 MHz with a single connection and is well respected for its high performance and durable construction. This mag-mount antenna is typically configured with 10 feet of RG-195 cable and a choice of connector terminations. The MGW-305 Multiband/Multi-cable Mag-mount Antenna combines multiple applications in the same antenna housing. This three-cable mag-mount antenna covers GPS, dual-band WiFi at 2.4 & 5 GHz, and broadband Cellular coverage from 694-894 MHz and 1.7-2.7 GHz. 4G speeds are not just for consumers. There will be plenty of commercial applications that will require rugged, dependable antennas for optimal high-speed data transfer.
