Organization Hierarchy Features
Organizations can now be grouped together and can be grouped in a hierarchy. We can make one or many organizational hierarchies in order to group inventory organizations into multi-level, hierarchical trees. By selecting a hierarchy and a given parent level organization, we can perform important tasks for all organizations that exist in the named hierarchy below the parent organization. There are several features in Oracle 11i which rely on organization hierarchy structures. The intent of these features is to streamline tedious steps normally required when making updates from one organization into another. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. This document will provide training on how to create Organization Hierarchy only. The test case scenario below illustrates how an organization hierarchy will be created: Create a hierarchy named JDSU Hierarchy as an example. Vision Operations will be the top organization of the hierarchy tree. Seattle Manufacturing organization will be a child or subordinate of Vision Operations Boston and Dallas Manufacturing organizations will be children of Seattle Manufacturing.

The following setup steps must be completed in other modules before entering Inventory setups: Complete all Oracle Organization setups. Inv 1 Define Hierarchy Not Required

Responsibility: Inventory Navigation: Setup Organizations Hierarchy

Enter the Hierarchy Name and Save. A hierarchy name is user defined named. Enter the Date and Save. Now place the cursor at name field under organization block and query up the node organization. The node organization could be you master organization or the parent organization. Now add the subordinate Organizations. In the above example Vision Operations is the master organization and the Seattle is defined as the subordinate organization. By pressing down arrow you can add subordinate organizations for a given organization. In the above example there are two subordinates for Seattle organization (M1) a. Boston Manufacturing (M2) and b. Dallas Manufacturing (M3). In our example above we have already created 2 suboridinates for Seatlle Manufacturing that is the reason it shows in the Number Of Subordinates field a value of 2. When we press the down arrow we see Boston Manufacturing and Dallas Manufacturing. Below is the screen shot of that.
