METHODOLOGY FOR THE CLASSES Restaraunt English Program Our American English program is a multilevel, four skills series

specially designed for adults who want to use American English both accurately and fluently. All ILTs programs consist of six levels that correspond to the European Framework for Languages. We apply a methodology that combines the best of traditional teaching methods with more recent approaches to make learning English stimulating, motivating, and effective. What we combine? A traditional approach: Grammar The grammatical systems of English are presented, practiced, tested, and explained. Vocabulary acquisition is an important element of every unit. There are pre-communicative activities to provide practice. These are intended to help the students get confidence to express themselves from the lowest level up. A current approach: Students are guided to grasp the grammar rules through active practice. The exercises presented encourage them to adopt a certain responsibility for their learning. Real-life situations are rehearsed in the classroom, with role plays and realistic activities. The language is seen as a whole. Learners acquire new language items by seeing them and using them in communicative activities. A communicative approach is mainly used to encourage the students to express their ideas through the new language structures, context-learned vocabulary. Learning Objectives: Develop high levels of fluency and accuracy. Enlarge the vocabulary with a general and professional purpose. Use the language skills more efficiently when in everyday and work situations. Instill good learning strategies and habits. Material That Matches Our methodology: Our 240-class six level program utilizes the American Headway series, and Market Leader textbooks.

Grammar & Language Review show that language structures can be acquired through carefully graded exposure to practice and realistic situations. Over the levels, the depth of language analysis gradually increases. It is our belief that an understanding of the grammar of English is one of the key enabling skills for the language learners. However, we do not include grammar classes. The students learn it through speaking. Vocabulary New words are introduce in lexical sets and learned in context, systems of vocabulary help students perceive patterns in the language, and collocations make the vocabulary practical and usable. Everyday English & Useful Language This section includes: survivals skills, functions, language for special occasions and professional situations.
