1 Introduction
This section contains information specifically about the Java web service certification 6
exams (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 Web Services Developer). A lot of the

2 Overview
The Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services SCDJWS, exam number 310-220 is a
new web services certification exam from Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Prerequisites - The first step towards SCDJWS is SCJP (Sun Certified Java
Programmer) Certification, which is the prerequisite for this exam. You need to have a
detailed and thorough understanding of issues involving the design, development, and
implementation of various Java web components.

2.1 Object & Specification

Web Services technologies are widely adopted and are the best choice for Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA). The technology areas covered in the SCDJWS certification
exam include WS-I Basic Profile, XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, J2EE, and Java Web
Services. To perform well in the exam, you must have a thorough understanding of the
specified Web Services technologies, Java APIs to deal with these technologies, design
and architecture of web services, and how web services fit into the J2EE Platform.
