FORMULA EDITOR-PAY ROLL PREPARATION

AIM To prepare a pay roll for the employees working in an organization in MS-Excel.

PROCEDURE Step1: To start MS-Excel,select StartProgramsMS-Excel. Step2: Enter the employee detail such as employee no.,Name,Basic pay in separate Columns as input. Step3: To find the HRA and DA,they can be calculated using the formula HRA=C2*12/100,DA=C2*1o/100 Step4: The PF varies among the employees getting more than salary of Rs.5000.For them, the formula is given by If(C2>5000,C2*20/100;C2*15/100).Now the gross pay and net pay can be calculated from the formula NP=BP+DA+HRA+PF,GP=BP-PF Step5: After all calculations, select all data in the worksheet, choose Data Sort. From the Sort dialog box, choose Name for sort order. Step6: To find the maximum salary, place the cursor below the table, Maximum salary=max (h2:h11).Then the maximum salary will be displayed. Step7: To find the minimum salary, place the cursor below the table, Minimum salary=MIN (*H2:H11).Then the minimum salary will be displayed.

INSERTING OBJECT,PICTURE AND PROTECTING SHEET

AIM To insert a picture, object into the Excel sheet and protect the sheet.

PROCEDURE:

INSERTING PICTURES Step1: Start MS-Excel by clicking StartProgramsMS Excel. Step2: Open a new spreadsheet by clicking File menu in the menu bar and select New option. A new workbook will appear. Step3: Select Insert menu from tool bar. Step4: Select the Picture option, click Pictures from File or Clip Art. Step 5: Click the Insert tag after selecting the picture.

INSERTING OBJECT Step 6: Select Insert menu and select the Object option. Step 7: Select the Create New or Create From File tag. A list will be displayed. Select an object from the given list. Example: If we select PowerPoint as an object the particular slide will be displayed in this object window.

PROTECTING WORKSHEET Method 1 Step 8: Select Tools menu and select protection option.. Step 9: Click Protect Sheet option. Step 10: Enter the password and select the options to provide privileges to unauthorized cesses and press OK button. (When opening the spreadsheet, sheet will be displayed but only allowed modifications can be performed.)

Method 2 Step 11: Select FileSaveToolsGeneral options Step 12 :Save option dialog box will be displayed. In that, enter the password to open and password to modify and press OK. Step 13: Retype and confirm password and press save button.
