2. Hazards Identification
Emergency overview DANGER: FLAMMABLE LIQUID. RISK OF SERIOUS DAMAGE TO EYES. CAUSES SKIN IRRITATION. CAUSES RESPIRATORY TRACT IRRITATION. Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear a NIOSH-certified vapor respirator. Wear NIOSH-certified chemical goggles. Eye wash fountains and safety showers must be easily accessible.
State of matter: liquid Colour: clear Odour: mild Potential health effects Primary routes of exposure: Routes of entry for solids and liquids include eye and skin contact, ingestion and inhalation. Routes of entry for gases include inhalation and eye contact. Skin contact may be a route of entry for liquified gases. Acute toxicity: Of low toxicity after single ingestion. Of low toxicity after short-term skin contact. Virtually nontoxic by inhalation. If used as intended, this product is not expected to present a physical or health hazard. Irritation / corrosion: May cause severe damage to the eyes. Skin contact causes irritation. Assessment other acute effects:
Teratogenicity: No indications of a developmental toxic / teratogenic effect were seen in animal studies.
Genotoxicity: The substance was not mutagenic in bacteria. The substance was not mutagenic in mammalian cell culture. The substance was not mutagenic in studies with mammals. Signs and symptoms of overexposure: Overexposure may cause:, coma, incoordination, headache, dizziness No data available. Potential environmental effects Terrestrial toxicity: Study scientifically not justified.
4. First-Aid Measures
General advice: Remove contaminated clothing. If inhaled: If difficulties occur after vapour/aerosol has been inhaled, remove to fresh air and seek medical attention. Remove the affected individual into fresh air and keep the person calm. Assist in breathing if necessary. If breathing difficulties develop, aid in breathing and seek immediate medical attention. If on skin: Wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and water. Seek medical attention. If in eyes: In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water. Seek medical attention. If swallowed: Rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water. Never induce vomiting or give anything by mouth if the victim is unconscious or having convulsions. Seek medical attention.
5. Fire-Fighting Measures
Flash point: Autoignition: Lower explosion limit: Upper explosion limit: Flammability: Self-ignition temperature: 31 C 400 C 1.2 %(V) 10.9 %(V) Flammable. (DIN EN 22719; ISO 2719, closed cup) (DIN 51794) ( 100 C) Literature data. ( 100 C) Literature data. not self-igniting
Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, dry powder, alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide Hazards during fire-fighting: Vapours may form explosive mixture with air. Cool endangered containers with water-spray. Risk of bursting. Burning produces harmful and toxic fumes. Protective equipment for fire-fighting: Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus and turn-out gear. Further information: Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Foam should be applied in large quantities as it is broken down to some extent by the product. Impact Sensitivity: Remarks:
Storage General advice: Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Storage containers should be grounded.

NFPA and HMIS use a numbering scale ranging from 0 to 4 to indicate the degree of hazard. A value of zero means that the substance possesses essentially no hazard; a rating of four indicates extreme danger. Although similar, the two rating systems are intended for different purposes, and use different criteria. The NFPA system was developed to provide an on-the-spot alert to the hazards of a material, and their severity, to emergency responders. The HMIS system was designed to communicate workplace hazard information to employees who handle hazardous chemicals.
