UFOS OVER THE CENTRAL WEST.

By Rex Gilroy Copyright Rex Gilroy 2010. For some months there have been sightings reports of strange lights seen in the sky at night, even glowing disc-shaped craft, over Central Western New South Wales towns such as Dubbo, Mudgee, Coonabarabran and the Bathurst/Orange region. I have been fortunate to capture two objects on the same day while on a visit to a farm outside orange. This was on the afternoon of Tuesday 4th May 2010. Leaving Heather to talk to the couple who own the farm, I took our dog Andy and the couples dog for a walk up a hillside western paddock, from where excellent views provided good photographic subjects. The time was about 1pm when I spotted a strange, large rainbow-coloured shining object which suddenly appeared, hovering high in the sky, transparent-like, between a distant hilltop and myself. I managed to take a photo of the object before it began drifting skywards, to suddenly vanish before my eyes! Later that afternoon, I visited a hilltop to the east of the property. As I was about to photograph the beautiful countryside before, me, I spotted high in the sky, moving from north to south, a black object that moved in and out of cloud cover. The time was 3pm when I first sighted the object, which although a great distance from me had to be of considerable size. I was able to take a photo of it before it suddenly vanished, like a light being switched off! It appeared to me that this farm property would be a good Skywatching location at night and also the hill from where I photographed this last object. I have learnt that many strange aerial phenomena occur in the skies over Orange, so will be paying attention to this area in future. -0-

MYSTERY UFO SEEN OVER MEGALONG VALLEY.

By Rex Gilroy Copyright Rex Gilroy 2010. At 6.30pm Saturday 1st May 2010 while walking my dog Andy on Katoomba Golf Course which lies in south Katoomba on cliff Drive just east of the Megalong Valley, just on dark I suddenly spotted to the northwest, a bright silver object in the distance and high above gumtrees that line the Cliff Drive boundary of the Golf Course. I was situated at the far south end of the course, and I could see that the object was somewhere high above the northwest end of Megalong Valley. It was moving steadily in my direction. Then another, smaller faint object appeared from out of the object to rise above it, a faintly-glowing silvery object from which I detected spoke-like projections extending out of it. Then, slowing down, the large glowing object abruptly changed course to move off at an increasing speed to the southwest, the other object suddenly vanishing as the larger one picked up speed to fly out of sight obscured by distant trees. The time was now 6.05pm. This was not to be my only sighting of what was surely a UFO, for the shining craft reappeared again, at 6pm on Thursday night 6th May, this time flying from the north on a southerly course at a moderate speed once again over Megalong Valley a little higher than the previous appearance and this time without the spoked craft. As I watched, this time from my side gate at my Kamillaroi Road property [which lies east of the golf course], I realised my digital cameras might pick it up. I rushed inside the house, grabbed the cameras, and within seconds began taking photos of the craft as it headed past my home to the west of me, seeming to descend as it approached Burragorang Valley just south of Megalong. A few shots of the craft that I was able to take as it move out of view behind trees across the street from me, turned out shaky but for two, a long-shot and close-up. These show a silver-glowing circular craft. The craft has not returned, but the fact that it was descending toward the Burragorang Valley [home of the vast, deep underground American/Australian space base] at a time when so many mysterious goings-on are happening in that valley, is further evidence of the top secret activity that continues to go on there. For weeks now people have been reporting strange lights in the valley, and it is certain that further extensions to the flight centres are still under way below ground. -0-

SOME UFO REPORTS GLEANED FROM THE INTERNET.

GOLD COAST UFO SIGHTINGS ROCKETING
Melissa Townsend | April 5th, 2010

Robina residents John and Pat Gatward were sitting down to dinner two Saturdays ago when they noticed strange orange lights crossing the night sky THE Gold Coast has reported the second highest number of UFO sightings in Queensland in a year. According to UFO Research Queensland, an organisation established in 1956 which records and researches UFO sightings, the Gold Coast ranked second to Brisbane in the number of unexplained sightings between October 2008 and September 2009, with 25 reports out of a total 123 coming from the Coast. Brisbane had 28, while Caboolture, Cairns and Logan were next on the list, all with five reports recorded.

For many years, the Australian Air Force was responsible for handling Unusual Aerial Sightings at the official level but in the 1990s, the department stopped archiving reports. Nowadays sightings are reported to local police authorities or civilian UFO research groups in the State, if at all. UFO Research Queensland president Sheryl Gottschall said sightings ranged from strange lights in the sky to detailed descriptions of craft. She believed the Gold Coast recorded more sightings because of its location and holiday appeal. "If you look at the population difference (between Brisbane and the Gold Coast), it's interesting," she said. "We think it's because of the geography of the Gold Coast, because it is fairly flat and you can see more of the sky, particularly out over the ocean and/or because of the population. "Many (people) are on holidays so they might be more casually looking at the sky (and notice these things)." The latest sighting was two Saturdays ago, when Robina resident Pat Gatward saw four strange orange lights in the sky about 6.20pm. Mrs Gatward said she was having dinner with her husband when they noticed the phenomena in the sky. "It wasn't fireworks or anything like that, I don't know what it was. I've never seen anything like it ... it was very strange," she said. Mrs Gatward was undecided about whether or not she believed in extra-terrestrial life. Police said they had not received a report about the lights. -0-

AUSTRALIA ATTRACTS NEW KIND OF VISITORS

Lisa Valentine | Monday, March 29th, 2010 at 3:22 pm
Is Australia a popular destination for UFO visitors? Australia has always been the number one spot for migrants emigrating abroad, particularly British migrants, but now it seems that Australia is being visited by an altogether different kind of immigrant and they dont have any visas! Quite what the Department of Immigration and Citizenship would make of it one can only guess, but they dont have too much to fear since these visitors have no intention of becoming immigrants to Australia, theyre just here on holiday it seems. Yes thats right, Australia is now a popular holiday destination for visitors from outer space. In particular they seem to like Gosford in New South Wales which has become Australias UFO hotspot. The Daily Telegraph reports that there are dozens of authentic UFO sightings each year. So popular is the town that UFO meetings are held every month for people to share their experiences of all things extra terrestrial. From glowing lights to spherical objects, Gosford residents have reported dozens of sightings and indeed the area was the scene of a series of puzzling sightings from 1995-1996 that remains unsolved to this day. UFO Research NSW reports that the areas geographical location might have something to do with it. They claim that UFOs prefer isolated spots near to water sources and power plants, something the NSW coast has plenty of. The Blue Mountains also have a high incidence of UFO sightings so it seems the UFOs are just as impressed with Australias magnificent scenery as the tourists are! Perhaps Tourism Australia should devise a marketing strategy that would appeal to the interstellar visitors so long as they leave the Roos in Australia! Our alien friends might care to take a look at some of the Australian holiday ideas we have on offer, they probably wont need to find cheap flights to Australia but in case they want to extend their visit, we have plenty of accommodation ideas too. -0-

UFO SIGHTINGS IN AUSTRALIA SPARK INVASION FEARS

by Chris Capps 4/30/10

Australia's recent massive sightings of UFOs have sparked concerns by many in the area that it may be the beginning stages of an unknown manoeuvre, and the word "invasion" has been coming up quite a bit. The incidents have been reported every day for over a week now, and several are voicing concern over the matter. Darwin has been the sight of the majority of these incidents, including three separate sightings last Friday night from different sources. The incident Friday included one sighting by a British backpacker named Kylie Myers, who originally had never believed in the phenomenon of UFOs, but quickly became a believer after the strange object appeared and hovered in the sky without warning. The young woman quickly ran to her car to retrieve her camera, but as soon as she acquired it, it disappeared. Myers described the encounter as "spooky." And the next day in Coolalinga more objects were observed. Last Sunday the objects made an appearance in Acacia Hills. On Tuesday they were spotted hovering above Howard Springs. The impression of many within the paranormal community is that these objects may be making an appearance with the intention of observing Earth and its inhabitants just as any other UFO sighting, but the increase in number and proximity to the observers has many wondering if there is something else to this latest string of sightings. And some are citing a possible invasion as the intention. "Though 99 percent of all UFO sightings can be explained by natural means," one UFOlogist going simply by the name Starling declared in an open email to the public, "these sightings are most definitely a cohesive move toward systematically observing the terrain in these regions of Australia. What they're doing we don't know, but I'd say keep an eye on this." Starling went on to compare this flap to the Battle of LA in 1942 and the Lima sightings on January 1st of this year over Peru. There's no question that mass sightings of UFOs are most certainly on the rise, but there is no clear conclusion to them that we have seen as of yet. The lights appear, make believers out of a select few who are lucky enough to see them, and then disappear with no explanation for their purpose. It seems professional UFO hunters will be packing their bags and heading to Australia if they wish to take part in the strange and unexplained sightings. The objects typically manifest as distant lights manoeuvring faster and with more dexterity than any known aircraft on Earth, but with no sound associated with them. As with any mass sighting, however, there are a few cases where the objects will be accompanied by a low droning hum or even spotted up close as solid objects rather than strange amorphous points of light. What is the real reason so many objects are appearing in Australia? Perhaps this time an explanation will accompany the slew of reports. -0-

UFO SIGHTINGS IN YOUR BACKYARD

Strange and mysterious things happen in rural and regional Australian communities everyday, and they aren't just restricted to the confines of local pubs. Last weekend, an entertaining chap named Tino Pezzimenti from UFORQ was visiting the local region of the NSW north coast, addressing a small crowd at Bangalows annual Starlight Expo. Tino was talking about the prevalence of Unidentified Flying Objects in our region, and in Australia in general. Just the acronym U.F.O brings a whole gamut of questions to mind thats probably why I felt so drawn to his talk at this Expo. So Tino, What's Really Out There? "Well, the universe is a big place," he said. "You line up 10 football fields, and humanity in its entirety all people - would make up the of just one edge of a blade of grass on those fields. Thats something people often forget but need to remember." When it comes to all things paranormal, Tino knows his stuff. Hes middle aged, married and a painter by trade, but he also spends a great deal of his time (over 30 years of his life) volunteering as a researcher with an organisation called UFO Research Queensland (UFORQ), which happens to be the oldest running UFO research group in the world. While Tino himself has never seen a UFO, hes certainly come into contact with a significant number of credible sightings over the last 30 years (and plenty of phoney ones as well), including one in the nearby town of Evans Head a few weeks ago and several in the Byron and Tweed shires in recent months. He didn't reveal too much about the local sightings, saving his breath for an upcoming community meeting in Byron later this month. He did, however, speak of one report of a 'paranormal experience' several years back, of a man travelling in his car out in rural QLD, west of Brisbane, to visit his mother. "He was driving in the rain and all of a sudden he saw this bush on fire in front of him. So he stopped the car and got out in the pouring rain - which he said was very uncharacteristic of him and he just stared at it for a while." Tino said the man reported being in an entranced state. "When he eventually arrived at his mums house, he realised he wasnt wet he was completely dry but he was slightly sunburnt. So strange things are happening out there. UFORQ focus on sightings from New Guinea to northern New South Wales and according to Tino, the majority of UFO sightings that are reported nationally occur in rural and regional areas. Most of the sightings are associated with bright, fast-moving, intense lights and bizarre entrancing experiences which 'change people'.

"Weve been having on average around 200 sightings reported in recent years, just in our area," he said. "There are plenty of sceptics out there, but the military sightings simply cannot be refuted. Military and commercial pilots are trained to look for things that shouldnt be in the sky, so we take those sightings very seriously." According to Tino, most sightings by lay people happen in the summertime, when people are more likely to be out and about enjoying the outdoors. "People often witness UFOs near large bodies of water, on military bases or near electricity stations, so if you want to see a UFO, theyre the places to go!" The team at UFORQ hold regular meetings in communities across both Queensland and regional NSW and will be holding a workshop in Byron Bay on April 17 to discuss recent sightings with members of the community. Tino said there had been a spike in the number of strange lights spotted in the local area (northern NSW) in recent years "weve recorded those and were treating them as worthwhile," he said. If you want to hear Tino for yourself, hes got a radio show on the web. Tinos joined a Brisbane based Psychic and an Australian Sceptic as one of the voices on http://www.4bc.com.au/ 's program The Paranormal Panel, featuring discussions around not just UFOs but myths and legends in general, including vampires, witches and the like. Meantime, if you see something mysterious out there whether its min min lights, strange hovering dishes or just really bright, fast lights - youre urged to report it to UFORQ. Governments and the scientific community remain uninterested in the possibility of extraterrestrial life out there and UFOs. "We need as much evidence as we can get because as long as these sightings go unreported, this issue will continue to be swept this under the carpet by scientists and governments." UFO sightings above Perth

08/May/2010 By David Gear, North Coast Times Alien invasion?
IS there something strange happening in the sky above Perth? Merriwa resident Mark, who asked for his surname not to be published, said he had been photographing the sky above Perth for more than 10 years.

Most people spend their time looking at the ground, not up at the sky, but theres stuff happening up there all the time, he said. Some of the things Ive photographed are strange and I cant explain them, but something is up there.

Have you ever seen or photographed anything strange above your city or town?

HEY EVERYONE, MY OWN UNIQUE UFO SIGHTING, GOLD COAST QLD.

Thought I'd share with you my most unique UFO sighting yet. I live only metres from the beach and many nights I will sit out in the dunes looking to the skies for whatever may be up there. Many nights I have seen strange lights and stars that seem to move in all directions across the skies. But this sighting absolutely blew me away; I felt like I needed to report it. So I called up the UFO Hotline and reported everything! Also I find it quite interesting that the police have pulled me over and told me to stay off the beach at night! What do they know!? Please share with us your own UFO experiences! Here is the detailed report: UFO Mermaid Beach Qld 2050hrs (CE-1) Date: 07.04.08 Sighting Duration: 50 minutes Caller: Mr. Daniel W Location: Mermaid Beach Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of object: 1 Weather Conditions: Overcast.

How did the object come to your attention?: I saw a light out over the sea. Also noticed at least one or possibly two other aeroplanes "circling" the objects with floodlights on I believe they were observing it too! Description: I went out to the beach to watch for UFOs! Saw no other light except that of what looked like a massive ship out on the water also an aeroplane above that was circling the area with searchlights on. The lights on the UFO seemed to re-arrange themselves. Then it would disappear under the water. It looked like a submarine with submerged lights. Then I watched it appear on the waters surface and sit there for a few minutes, then it rose off the water and went directly up what looked like a few hundred meters then move sideways what seemed like 1 klm or so and would lower back to the surface and proceed to go under water again. It did this several times. After 45 minutes of this it went underwater and went North quickly. I rang my girlfriend who was working in Surfers Paradise she went out onto the beach and described in my direction out at sea a ship that looked like it had "excessive lighting, it was huge but it didn't look like a normal ship." Also the plane surveying the area was travelling really slowly, hardly made any noise and looked different to any plane you usually see in the sky. I believe they were watching it too. There was NO sound, it went underwater, it was doing something underwater. Size: I estimated it was around the length of 4 Busses back to back. It was shaped like a large naval ship from what I saw the lights seemed to move and manifest into different position on the craft, the light were bright yellow/white. It was 90 to the beach, directly in front when looking out East. I believe it was a U.F.O It would look like a submarine with its lights underwater. The object seemed to manifest like it was sitting on the water, then it would rise directly up, more sideways and lower back to the surface and then go underwater again, several times. At around 9.45pm it seemed to be underwater then it went North along the coast and I could see it in the distance near "The Spit". It moved around 10km north VERY quickly underwater (440 Kph+) it was there a moment, then it was gone. Lights: Pulsating moving around themselves Other experiences: A few weeks before both my girlfriend and I watched what looked like a big star in the sky moving around, going in circles and flying along then instantly stopping and hovering etc. In the same areas as this but much higher and further away. Report compiled by Diane Frola AUFORN from snail mail UFO report form.
