For more information about visa conditions and regulations, visit immi.gov.au/students.

How long is my visa valid?

Your student visa will be issued for the duration of your SIBT course, as stated in the CoE that you will receive from SIBT. If you plan to continue your studies at Macquarie University, your SIBT and Macquarie University courses will be packaged together and you will receive a CoE for both. The advantage of this is that you will receive one visa for the entire duration of your studies at SIBT and Macquarie University. Please note: If your SIBT course finishes in October and your principal course at Macquarie University starts in February of the following year, Australian immigration law may require you to leave Australia between October and February. SIBT takes no responsibility for students who fail to take this into consideration when selecting their course units.

One visa for all your studies

As an SIBT student, you can apply for a single visa to cover the duration of your studies. Under this visa you can package your SIBT program, your degree at Macquarie University and your English language program (if required).

How do I apply?
Prospective international students intending to study in Australia must obtain a student visa from an Australian High Commission, Embassy or Consulate in their home country before travelling. Students from some countries can also apply online; to find out if you are eligible, visit immi.gov.au/e_visa/students.htm. What are the visa requirements?

There are requirements that must be met before a student visa is issued, and these vary from country to country.
