2. Product Description
Davco Davelastic 98 is a specially designed latex additive for use with Davco TTB 98 powder to make high strength thin bed (up to10mm) and medium bed (to 20mm) adhesive mortars. Also for use with Portland cement mix with fine silica sand to make bond coats to mortar beds and for dry set mortars to give improved performance and longer open time.

3. Installation
a) Suitable substrates : Concrete Masonry Terrazzo, Ceramic Tile & Stone. Cement Backer Board ( to be primed with Davco Bonding Agent) Gypsum Wallboard (Interior Only) ( to be primed with Davco Bonding Agent) ALC Block Wall ( to be primed with Davco Primer) b) Preparation: All surfaces should be structurally sound, clean and free of dirt, oil, grease, concrete sealers or curing compound. Loose particle of concrete on the surface has to be removed. Dusty concrete or masonry should be swept clean and dampened with water prior to the application of mortar. Note: Do not soak ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles with to much of release powders at back of tiles must be wash and clean with well installation. b) Usage : 6-8 of Davco Davelastic 98 Additive mixes with 1 bag (25 kg) of Davco TTB 98 Ceramic Tile / Stone Adhesive Powder c) Approximate Coverage:

Application: Apply the adhesive with the flat side of the trowel, being sure to work the material into the surface of the substrate comb the surface of the adhesive with the notched trowel. Be sure to use the proper size, notched trowel; it is essential that enough adhesive it used to completely cover the back of the tile with a minimum 2.5 - 3mm thick uniform bed. Do not spread more than 1 sq. meter at a time. IMPORTANT: Due to atmospheric condition, the skin-over of the adhesive will occur after 5-10 minutes, therefore special attention have to be taken. So it is important that adhesive is applied in a small area that can be covered with tiles within this period of time. [NOTE: Skin over can be checked by placing the tip of your index finger lightly to the adhesive bed surface. If the adhesive does not stick to your finger, skin over has already occurred. To break the skin re-trowels the opposite direction. For heavy key tiles or large tiles, apply a skim coat of the adhesive on the back of each tile to ensure complete coverage to the back of each tile. Press tiles firmly into position followed by a twisting action to ensure good contact between tiles and background. When fixing floor tiles it is essential that the adhesive bed should be compacted and the tiles thoroughly tapped down into it, to eliminate any air voids beneath the tiles. Presence of voids is potential points of weaknesses to loading. Tiles can be adjusted for about 5-10 minutes after fixing to arrange joints. Leave minimum joints of 2-3mm between tiles. Setting time is approximately 8 hours.
