Dr. Afuang: Apparently, I do not know. Dr. Afuang told her ideas of the relocation of the TERC Office having a two-floor construction for the book room and reading room. Ante: Last year, we gave a proposal asking for office equipments. But apparently, we didn't get any of that. Dr. Afuang: Ok, you give me the list, but I won't make any promises. USC Councilor Holt raised his concern regarding the relocation of the USC and [P] office. Dr. Afuang: I saw the basement with a big potential, we just have to make the right attitude. Dr. Afuang opened up about the counselling mechanisms of CTD which requires ample space. Dr. Afuang: The purpose of the students is to learn and be leaders and well-educated. Dr Afuang: Professors do not grade just to fail the students, but students still fail. Dr. Afuang told the council her idea of a research that will take 4-5 years to study the trend of students when it comes to study and other related issues. Dr. Afuang told her burden about the bracketing of STFAP [E1 and E2]. Baka pwede nating dagdagan yung tinatanggap sa E1 and E2. Dr. Afuang: I feel the hardwork of the students, specially those who are in the middle class. Dr Afuang: I told the admin that I need co-faculty that could help me think. [Spacing in SU]. Dr. Afuang told the rationale of Student Assistantship and how some students treat it. Dr Afuang expressed her sentiments about the delinquency of some students who avail the program. Dr. Afuang: so where would I put them[co-faculty]? Ms. Ante: (Affirmed the ideas), can we have a representation on the convention of your cofaculty here at OSA [concerns about STFAP, SA, etc.]? Dr. Afuang: Walang problema. Dr. Afuang: We really need more people, in CTD, our counselors handle 19 blocs each. "Ang bigat kaya non?".

37 Ms. Ante: Opened the topic about the Student Manual. 38 Dr. Afuang: Maganda yun, bilisan niyo, at wag niyo tulugan, diba? may una na agad kayong project! 39 Dr. Afuang: CTD has tutorial services here. Matagal na po itong planong ito, 2005. 41 Ms. Ante stressed the importance of the USC Office. 42 Ms. Ante: We are not consulted, the scenario was, we are just informed but not consulted. We were not given the chance to counter-propose. 43 Dr. Afuang: When I came here, that's the scenario already. At pagdating sa USC Office, ako daw ang kakausap sainyo, sabi ko, anong sasabihin ko? they will just say bahala ka na, then giggles. So paano? positive ba ito o negative? 44 Dr. Afuang: I foresaw that you will have statements like that. But my purpose here is for you to understand. I respect the purpose of your office, but the space can be utilized for another Student Services. Furthermore, I do not have the final say? 46 Dr. Afuang: OVCPD, OVCI. 47 Ms. Ante shared the sentiments of the past councils regarding the relocation. 48 Dr. Afuang: For me, it is alright for you to counter propose, say your purpose. 49 Mr. Holt: We will communicate to the appropriate offices.[] 50 Dr. Afuang shared her sentiments of the level of technology of the university's mechanism when constructing offices. Shared her sentiments about the wiring, etc. 51 Dr. Afuang told her story of accepting the appointment as the OSA director. 52 Dr. Afuang emphasized that she picked faculty members that are really competent enough for the appointment. 53 Org Recognition 54 The LTS has been attended by approximately 160 organizations. 55 Ms. Abegaille Dela Cruz: Many of our varsitarian organizations were unable to attend the said LTS [raised logistical concerns impeding these organizations to attend]. 56 Ms. Ante opened up the letter made by the organizations that drafted a letter last year who were unable to attend the LTS to compensate their address through an another activity. 57 Dr. Afuang: I heard that a letter has been forwarded already to Mr. Chico of SOAD. 58 Dr. Afuang: Let's see what we can do, I will check those who have missed the LTS, but If these organizations are the same organizations who missed the LTS already, I will take it as a negative attitude from the organization. 59 Ms. Ante stressed that the varsitarian organizations have the same conditions every year. 60 Dr. Afuang: I will check on this issue. I have no promises but I will look into that. 61 Frehsman Recruitment 62 Ms. Ante: the Student Code, as the incumbent USC Councilor stated who stands as a student Juror in the STD, states that freshman recruitment is allowed. 64 Mr. Holt told an instance involving the student organizations in CEAT. 65 Ms. Ante expressed that this flaw greatly affects the organizations. "para po tuloy kaming alak na nilalayuan ng mga freshman" 66 Dr. Afuang: I just recently heard that clarification [stressed the prohibition for the fraternities and sororities]. But if I were to ask, I will still discourage the freshmen to join organizations. [shares her views about the process of some organizations, fraternities, and sororities].

67 Dr. Afuang: It is to protect the freshman. I believe that organizations can still help the freshman even without the membership. Then after that, they could recruit the student. I do not like processes that lead to hazing. 69 Dr. Afuang cleared that freshman recruitment is allowed but discouraged. 72 Dr. Afuang: Usually sa akin dumadaan, then i'll pass it to SDT. 73 Student's Rights and Responsibilities 74 Dr. Afuang: I will really wait for that. From the 2-month vacation, I really have to make a lot of adjustments. 77 Dr. Afuang asked for a copy of the minutes. 78 Meeting adjourned at 6:35pm. *Prepared by USC Councilor Arthur Kent Holt
