The father and mother about whom i will be writing is our great great grand Father and Mother

of humanity Adam a.s. and hawa a.s. ie., Adam and Eve (may peace be upon both of them). I wanted to throw some light on this subject as I was posed a question by a brother of ours so for a better understanding let us understand the subject in detail inshaAllah. The best source for any information is the Quran and the authentic hadith and the Quran it talks about the story of Adam a.s. and hawa a.s. in great detail in several places , to start with Allah subhaanwtala talks about the creation of adam a.s. in surah baqarah ch:2 ,V:30 that , And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

Allah mentions in surah Al Hujarat ch:49 , v:13 that , O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. Allah also mentions in surah nisa ch: 4, v:1 that , O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah , through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer. So it is clear that Allah subhaanwatala created adam a.s. first and then from him Allah created his mate hawa a.s. The first part of the question that was posed by the brother was - Where Adam (a.s) and Howa (a.s) in Heaven??? or is it that they were in some garden on Earth?? First Adam(a.s) was created and then Howa(a.s) then why do they say that adam(a.s)was thrown on earth for eating the forbidden fruit...but at that time even Howa(a.s) was present??? Was she there with him in heaven??? this is what the brother asks. And Allah answers to this question in surah baqarah ch: 2, v: 35,36,37 that, And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat there from in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers." But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And we said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time." As Allah says that when Allah created them Allah asked them to dwell in paradise and both were in heaven and in the next ayah of surah baqrah ch: 2 , v: 37 Allah say that , Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. Allah subhaanwatala again mentions the story of adam as and hawa as in detail in surah araf ch: 7, v: 19-27 But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal." And he swore [by Allah ] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."

So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?" They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." [Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time." Allah mentions in surah Araf ch: 7, v: 25 that, He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth." So in non of the verses it is said that It was only Adam a.s. who was send on earth , infact both were send on earth i.e. hazrat adam a.s. and hazart hawa a.s. , from heaven , till there death as Allah mentions in the above ayahs very clearly. The second part of the brothers question was - When adam a.s. and howa a.s. had two sons how this world came into existence??? Where there people already on earth??? So that their sons got married??? This is the question which strikes in the minds of many people and this question is the reason that I am writing this article so that it is clarified to more people in a very broader area inshaAllah. Firstly nowhere does Allah tells in the Quran that Adam a.s. and hawa a.s. had only sons , yeah the Quran talks and discusses the story of two of his sons in detail in surah maidah ch: 5, v: 27 onwards if you read it says: And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. If you should raise your hand against me to kill me - I shall not raise my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds. Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers." And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?" And he became of the regretful. There is actually a huge amount of misunderstanding among masses that they think Adam a.s. had only two sons, and if we go with this belief then, one son of Adam a.s. killed the other son as Allah mentioned this to us in the above ayahs, then the question which comes into mind is then how did the generations extended as there was only one son left? If we study the Quranic tafseer and the books written by the scholars we get the explanations and the details of this matter and the matter is more cleared and explained Alhumdulillah. Our mother Hazrat hawa a.s. when the first time she gave birth it was twins that were born to her and out of the twins one was a male and the other was a female. And even for the second time when she gave birth there were twins and out of the twins one was a male and the other was a female.

Ibn Katheer (May Allah have mercy on him said) that Allah prescribed that Adam a.s. must marry his daughters to his sons as a matter of necessity.

Ibn Abi Haatim narrated that: it was forbidden for women to marry her twin brother and he was hence forth commanded to give her in marriage to a brother from another pregnancy. As from each pregnancy one boy and one girl were born.

Ibn katheer (May Allah have mercy on him said) that the sister who was born with Habeel was ugly and the sister who was born with Qabeel was beautiful. Qabeel wanted to keep her to himself and not give her to his brother, but Adam a.s. insisted that they should offer sacrifices and whichever brothers sacrifice was accepted by Allah would win her hand. So they offered sacrifices and it was accepted from Habeel but it was not accepted from Qabeel. As this story was told by Allah in the Quran.

So as a matter of necessity this was prescribed otherwise how could all of mankind have come about? There was no other way except the sons of Adam a.s. marrying his daughters. The basic messasge of all the prophets has remained the same from Adam a.s. to prophet mohammed (pbuh) that God is one , however in the sharia laws and the deeds related to worship and world matters had changed according to the requirements of every age from Adam a.s. to prophet Mohammad (pbuh).Allah has set different sharia by taking the way of living and the benefits of every age into considerations. As Allah mentions in surah Maidah ch:5 ,v: 48 that, To each of you we prescribed a law and a method

So in the law at the time of Adam a.s. the marriage between brothers and sisters were allowed and this continued for some time, but when the number of humans increased, there were no need any more of this law and this law was abolished by Allah. The allowance of that marriage was a command of Allah for some time as necessity for the progeny to increase and the prohibition of that marriage also came from Allah. This was a small effort of mine to clarify and present the matter in detail as I thought it as an important matter to be discussed as the massess are unaware. This article came out to be a lill lengthy though, may Allah give sabr and patience to the readers Aameen. The rest Allah hu Allam and Allah knows best.
