As a part of the strategic development of our school it is very important that the Staff, Management, and the Board of Trustees are continually consulting with you, our school community, to gauge whether we are meeting the needs of our learners and their families. We have already had a very successful consultation round in Term Three, with 80% of you returning your Year Eight profile. Now I am asking for the same support for you all to complete two End of Year surveys. The first will be released today. This survey is designed to offer all members of the Waiouru School community an opportunity to be involved in the future direction and development of our school. By reviewing school performance through your responses you will provide a clear indication of our current strengths and areas for development. The Board of Trustees and Leadership team will then use this feedback to strategically plan for future school direction and development. This survey is completely online, and will be open until Friday 30th November. I understand that some of you will be unable to complete this survey at home, if you do not have the internet, but not to worry as we will have a computer free all day in the administration area for you to use. If you would like to use one of our computers after work, please contact Kerry for an appointment and I will make sure that you can have access. Other than this, the only problem I see to accessing this survey, is that it does not play nicely with Internet Explorer. Please use an alternative browser like Firefox or Google Chrome. I am always here for help and advice if you need a hand. The second survey which I will release next week, is around day to day operations at Waiouru School. We will cover three areas, School Communication, Before and After School Care and Education Outside the Classroom (Camp, Ski Trips and School Gardens). This survey will be available both online and as a paper document. In this survey I am really keen to get your ideas and suggestions on how to make our operations run smoother next year. I know this is a lot to ask of you all at this time of the year, but this is a community school and I believe that our community should be able to have their say in the future direction and development of our school.
