• Where any law provides that information or any
other matter shall be authenticated by affixing
the signature or any document shall be signed or
bear the signature of any person then,
notwithstanding anything contained in such law,
such requirement shall be deemed to have been
satisfied, if such information or matter is
authenticated by means of digital signature
affixed in such manner as may be prescribed by
the Central Government. - - "Signed", with its

• The digital signature will be certified by
‗Certifying Authority‘. The ‗certified
authority‘ will be licensed, supervised and
controlled by ‗Controller of Certifying
Authorities‘.

• The authentication of the electronic record
shall be effected by the use of asymmetric
crypto system and hash function which
envelop and transform the initial electronic
record into another electronic record.

• There are two key : private key and public
key, when these are combined, then they
operate.
• Private key creates digital signature
• Public key verifies the private key.
• Key pair is asymmetric crypto system
which is used in the verification system.

 Cyber regulation appellate tribunal
• Chapter 10 : any person aggreived by the
decision of certifying authority, can appeal
in 45 days to CRAT. Each CRAT will
consist of one presiding officer, who is
qualified to be a high court judge or has
been a member of Indian legal service
and held a post of grade I for at least 3
years.
