The AlphaAnnounce Public Address system fulfils all class rules and is built up as a redundant or A/B loop system. The standard version includes 2x 250W amplifiers and is extendable.

AlphaAnnounce Public Address system

Redundant: The redundant version is built up in such a way that PA is supported primarily by an alarm generator, primary amplifier, digital controller and one or more microphone panels. Secondarily, when one of these components fails, a second alarm generator will take over the position of the first one. The digital controller will be overridden by analogue control which is also provided with a microphone and alarm panel for local activation of the alarms such as GA and fire alarm. Furthermore, the second amplifier will take over the first amplifier. A/B Loop The A/B loop system is built up in a cabinet, the loudspeaker cabling is connected to two separate amplifiers. These amplifiers are primarily controlled by the digital controller through PA and alarm panels and secondarily by the analogue controller as described in the redundant system above. When the A/B loop system is built up in separate racks, the PA and alarm panels will have two exits to the racks as so to control the PA at the same time and through separate cabling.

Both versions are implemented with a gateway for external contacts for fire alarm from the Fire central, additional buttons to activate General Alarm, etc. There are also outgoing contacts taking care of the signalling in the engine rooms, mute functions. The AlphaAnnounce is equipped with 2 power supply entries, namely 230V AC primarily and 24V DC secondarily. The complete installation from microphone up to and including the exit from the amplifiers to the speakers is fully guarded and is indicated on the PA and alarm panel during failure. Parallel to this, outgoing contacts are available for ships alarm monitoring system. Detailed failure report will take place in the central cabinet. If one of the power supplies should fail this will of course also be reported as a failure.
