switched reluctance machines is designed to be the ideal permanent-magnet-less machine. The companys patented switched reluctance machines (SRMs) provide highperformance alternatives to induction and permanent magnet motor/generators with increased reliability and disruptive cost benefits. The minimum viable product is being rolled out to provide electrical assist to bicycles (eBikes) but the SRMs disrupt current motor technology from approximately 150 watts scalable to one megawatt and beyond - or from air conditioners to oil and gas pumps. HEVT is one of a very few companies globally with SRM expertise and the necessary and complimentary expertise in power electronics and control. HEVT's broad intellectual property portfolio provides many opportunities to create value in the hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle ecosystem. At this time, the company is focused on addressing the following market problems: The Cost of Electrification. Electrified transportation holds great promise for energy independence, energy security and related reductions in economic volatility. Yet, the greatest barrier to broad adoption of electric vehicles remains cost. While immense effort has focused on battery technology, particularly reduction of costs and improvements in vehicle range, much work remains to optimize technology for other components of the electrified vehicle. HEVT's multidisciplinary, system-level approach is designed to reduce cost across the entire powertrain.

The Need for Fuel Efficiency. Fuel

efficiency remains a global geopolitical concern. Moreover, consumers are demanding more fuel efficient mobility solutions. HEVT offers a number of potential solutions. Our technologies may be used to electrify vehicle accessories, hybridize fleet vehicles, optimize systemlevel fuel efficiency through more efficient control and increase the benefits of current hybrid technologies such as regenerative braking and start-stop capability.

The Risks Associated with Rare

Earth Materials. Historically, permanent magnet machines were the motor/generator of choice for traction applications primarily because of their high torque and power density. Permanent magnets, however, require rare earth materials that are difficult and environmentally hazardous to extract. Moreover, world supply is highly concentrated in China and projected demand is expected to rapidly outpace supply which will drastically increase the price of permanent magnet machines and may cause supply interruption.
