DISCUSSION

At this experiment, we can calibrate the oscilloscope and we can find value of vp, vpp, vrms, time and the value of frequency. The volt/div and time/div are given, we just calculate which with its formula. An oscilloscope also known as a scope, CRO, DSO, or an O scope. It is a type of electronic text instrument that allows observation of constantly varying signal voltages, usually as a two-dimensional graph of one or more electrical potential differences using the vertical or Y- axis, plotted as a function of time, horizontal or X-axis.

Although an oscilloscope display voltage on its vertical axis, any other quantity that can be converted to a voltage can be displayed as well. In most instance, oscilloscope show events that repeat with either no change slowly. Oscilloscope are commonly used to observe the exact wave shape of an electrical signal. In addition, to the amplitude of the signal, an oscilloscope can show distortion, the time between two events (such as pulse width, period, or rise time) and relative timing of two related signals.

The function of oscilloscope is to measure AC as well DC voltage and current it is useful to calculate the parameter of the voltage as peak to peak value, r.m.s value, time and the value of frequency. In laboratory to measure the frequency, period, phase relationship between the signal and to study periodic as well as non periodic signals. It is used to determine the modulation characteristic to detect the standing

wave in transmission line. Moreover, curve tracers use the oscilloscope technique for testing the active devices such as vacuum tubes, transistor and integrated circuits.

CONCLUSION

At the end of this experiment, we have been calibrate the oscilloscope to find the value of vp, vpp, vr.m.s, time and the value of frequency. For the volt/div and time/div we can find the value through the formula that have been given. For the example: volt/div=1, time/div=0.5. The calculation: VPP:21Vp=2Vpp VP: vpp/2 =1Vp VRMS:1vp/J2=0.707 Vrms TIME:0.5ms 2=1ms F:1/T=1/1ms=1khz Oscilloscope are commonly used to observe the exact wave shape of an electrical signal. An oscilloscope is to measure AC as well DC voltage and current it is useful to calculate the parameter of the voltage as peak to peak value, r.m.s value, time and the value of frequency. With using the new automatic oscilloscope we can able to observe a waveform such as sine wave, square wave and others. In this experiment we got the result of waveform is square wave.
