The Gospel opens unsuspected dimensions in the life, penetrates thresholds, it is a light window and offer of alliance where

we all are brothers and our family is the whole human family. Then I can't ask to the Gospel for trivial advices on how a family is governed, but ideas - forces for an authentic life in growth.

year his parents used to go to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up for the feast as usual. 43 When the days of the feast were over and they set off home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem without his parents knowing it. 44 They assumed he was somewhere in the party, and it was only after a day's journey that they went to look for him among their relations and acquaintances.

It is necessary to know how to look for and to make an effort to get what is wanted. In our search, sometimes Jesus disappears, we lose sight of him. He is not always where we think that he is or where we want him to be.. But he never gets lost. He always appears. He always allows to be.

When they failed to find him they went back to Jerusalem looking for him everywhere. 46 It happened that, three days later, they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them, and asking them questions; 47 and all those who heard him were astounded at his intelligence and his replies. 48 They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, 'My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.'

Jesus' family, like any family, isn't free of worries and anxiety. Mary asks. She opens a serene dialogue, without accusations. She knows how to interrogate, to listen and to welcome the incomprehensible answers. Inside the familiar reality is the respect to the originality and performance of every person. I hope so that in our familiar and social relations we can listen and ask, to listen and wonder ourselves.

He replied, 'Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?'

They didn't know it, they were learning. One becomes a mother and father progressively, during the whole life. Always in attitude of opening and search. Jesus burst into with the unexpected thing, acting in a free and disconcerting way. He makes the fundamental orientation of his life quite clear, his way of acting isn't going to depend not on the familiar, religious or social rules For Jesus, the matters of the Father are the human being, its happy moments, its dreams, its worries, its wishes...

But they did not understand what he meant.

As all the children, Jesus is moving away from home. Mary and Josph, like so many parents and mothers, feel that the children aren't theirs, that they belong to God, to the world, to their mission, to their loves, to their dreams... They didn't have everything clear from the beginning. Also they had to believe in Jesus. The faith is a process, with stages that can be dark and painful. As we, they will find Jesus through the persons, the search, the happiness, the surprise, the worries, the astonishment, the doubt...

He went down with them then and came to Nazareth and lived under their authority

Nazaret

Jesus leaves the temple and the doctors and goes away to his home with Mary and Joseph, teachers of life. They help him to grow giving him protection, affective safety, dignity, confidence, love.... Jesus chooses the way of growing of all the human beings by means of the dialogue and the things made by all, also by means of incomprehensions and reciprocal obediences.

His mother stored up all these things in her heart.

Mary keeps the God's Word, the word that doesn't understand, the unexpected answer, the facts that surprise her. Everything preserves it in the heart pondering it, preserving it, protecting it... That may we learn of her the art of thinking, of pondering, the art of the depth. The Holy Scritures remember the heart approximately 913 times. In the heart it is where it is discerned, understood, loves truly, the life is chosen, it is a place of return. The whole life is a pilgrimage towards the place of the heart (O.Clment).

And Jesus increased in wisdom, in stature, and in favour with God and with people.

The life grows, advances with the miracle of the love that doesn't give up and fights to do the most habitable and happier earth. The art of living consists in being able to receive with admiration the daily thing, in doing always the things as if it was the first time, in turning the ordinary thing in extraordinary. Our life will be growing and transforming, if we fill with light, generosity and tenderness the realities that come to meet us every day. As Jesus.

NOT TO GET LOST IN LIFE Son, you are equipped by me for your life, but only for your life. You have everything necessary to live through your own personal adventure, to be yourself and to realize thus my dream about you. But remember and listen to your dears: We are we, and you are you. We can neither impose our life on you nor prevent you from living yours. You can do what you choose. My son, my daughter, don't forget saying to any - nearby, distant, wise, needy, rich, poor - this hard and tender truth: I am me , and you are you.
