History:

Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established Apple computer kits on April 1, 1976. The kits were hand-built by Wozniak and first shown to the public at the Homebrew Computer Club. The kits of Apple I consisted of motherboard with CPU, RAM and basic textual-video chips. Apple I went on sale in July 1976 and was incorporated on January 3, 1977. The Apple II was introduced on April 16, 1977 at the first West Coast Computer Faire. It differed from its major rivals, the TRS-80 and Commodore PET, due to its character cell-based color graphics and an open architecture. While early models used ordinary cassette tapes as storage devices, they were superseded by the introduction of 1/4 inch floppy disk drive. The Apple II was chosen to be the desktop platform for the first "killer app" of the business world, VisiCalc, a spreadsheet program. VisiCalc created a business market for the Apple II and gave home users compatibility with the office, an additional reason to buy an Apple II. Apple was a distant third place to Commodore and Tandy until VisiCalc came along. The Macintosh Portable was introduced in 1989 and was designed to be just as powerful as a desktop Macintosh, but weighed a bulky 7.5 kilograms (17 lb) with a 12-hour battery life. After the Macintosh Portable, Apple introduced the PowerBook in 1991. The same year, Apple introduced System 7, a major upgrade to the operating system, which added color to the interface and introduced new networking capabilities. It remained the architectural basis for Mac OS until 2001.

Introduction:
Name: According to Steve Jobs, Apple was so named because Jobs was coming back from an apple farm, and he was on a fruitarian diet. He thought the name was "fun, spirited and not intimidating". Logos: Apple's first logo, designed by Ron Wayne, depicts Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. It immediately replaced by Rob Janoffs "rainbow Apple". In 1998, with the rollout of the new iMac, Apple discontinued the rainbow theme and began to use monochromatic themes, nearly identical in shape to its previous rainbow incarnation, on various products, packaging and advertising. An Aqua themed version of the monochrome logo was used from 20012003, and a Glass-themed version has been used since 2003.

Apple Inc formerly Apple Computer, Inc is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Cupertino, California that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and personal computers. The word "Computer" was removed from its name on January 9, 2007, reflecting its shifted focus towards consumer electronics after the introduction of the iPhone. Apple has been one of the world's largest technology companies by revenue. It is the world's third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia. Fortune magazine named Apple the most admired company in the United States in 2008, and in the world from 2008 to 2012. As of November 2012, Apple has 394 retail stores in fourteen countries as well as the online Apple Store and iTunes Store. It is the largest publicly traded corporation in the world by market capitalization, with an estimated value of US$626 billion as of September 2012. The Apple market cap is larger than that of Google and Microsoft combined. As of September 29, 2012, the company had 72,800 permanent full-time employees and 3,300 temporary full-time employees worldwide. Its worldwide annual revenue in 2010 totaled $65 billion, growing to $156 billion in 2012.

2. iPad
On January 27, 2010, Apple introduced their much-anticipated media table, the iPad running a modified version of iOS. It offers multi-touch interaction with multimedia formats including newspapers, magazines, eBooks, textbooks, photos, movies, TV shows videos, music, word processing documents, spreadsheets, video games, and most existing iPhone apps[ It also includes a mobile version of Safari for web browsing, On March 2, 2011, Apple introduced the iPad 2, which had a faster processor and two cameras on the front and back, respectively. It also added support for optional 3G service provided by Verizon in addition to the existing offering by AT&T. On March 7, 2012, Apple introduced the third-generation iPad, marketed as "the new iPad". It added LTE service from AT&T or Verizon, the upgraded A5X processor, and the Retina display (2048 by 1536 resolution), originally implemented on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S On October 23, 2012, Apple introduced the fourth-generation iPad, marketed as the "iPad with Retina display". It added the upgraded A6X processor and replaced the traditional 30-pin dock connector with the all-digital Lightning connector. The iPad mini was also introduced, with a reduced 7.9-inch display and featuring much of the same internal specifications as the iPad 2.

3.

iPod
On October 23, 2001, Apple introduced the iPod digital music player. Apple currently sells four variants of the iPod:

iPod shuffle:
Ultra-portable digital audio player, currently available in a 2 GB and 4 GB model, introduced in 2005.

iPod Nano :
It is a Portable media player currently available in a 16 GB model, introduced in 2005. Earlier models featured the traditional iPod click wheel, though the current generation features a multi-touch interface and includes an FM radio and a pedometer.

A new iPod nano said to be announced, but we are currently unsure of technical specifics. The new iPod nano said to have a completely new codename from last years model, which may point to some design and internal changes. Last years iPod nano update had the same design as the 2010 model, and its codename was the same as the 2010 iPod nano codename plus an A. This new iPod nano, like the Shuffle, will come in eight colors. It appears that Apple may only have the higher-priced, higher configuration iPod nano this year.

iPod Touch:
Portable media player that runs iOS, currently available in 32 and 64 GB models, introduced in 2007. The current generation features the Apple A5 processor, a Retina display, and dual cameras on the front (1.2 megapixel sensor) and back (5 megapixel iSight), the latter of which supports HD video recording at 1080p.

The new iPod touch line situation appears much more interesting than the new iPod nano and iPod shuffle lines. The current iPod touch line features three prices and capacities all with the 2010, fourth-generation design.

iPod Classic:
Portable media player, currently available in a 160 GB model, first introduced in 2001.

4. iPhone:
At the Macworld Conference & Expo in January 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the longanticipated iPhone, a convergence of an Internet-enabled Smartphone and iPod. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007 for $499 (4 GB) and $599 (8 GB) with an AT&T contract. On February 5, 2008, it was updated to have 16 GB of memory, in addition to the 8 GB and 4 GB models. Following are the models of the iPhone: o iPhone (1st generation):

The iPhone ( the original iPhone, iPhone 1 or iPhone 2G) is a Smartphone that was designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It is the first generation of iPhone and was announced on January 9, 2007, after months of rumors and speculation. It was introduced in the United States on June 29, 2007. It featured quad-band GSM cellular connectivity with GPRS and EDGE support for data transfer. The device was succeeded by the iPhone 3G. The original iPhone no longer receives software updates from Apple; its final official firmware version was iPhone OS 3.1.3.

o iPhone 3G (Second Generation):

The iPhone 3G is a Smartphone that was designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It is the second generation of iPhone, and was introduced on June 9, 2008 at the WWDC 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, United States. The iPhone 3G was internally similar to its predecessor, but included several new hardware features, such as Assisted GPS 3G data and tri-band

UMTS/HSDPA. The device also benefited from software improvements introduced with iPhone OS 2.0, which was launched at the same time. As well as other features (including Push email and turn-by-turn navigation), this new operating system introduced the App Store Apple's new distribution platform for third-party applications.

o iPhone 3GS(Third Generation):

It is a touch screen Smartphone, designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It is the third generation iPhone, successor to the iPhone 3G. It was introduced on June 8, 2009, at the WWDC 2009, which took place at the Moscone Center, San Francisco.

Improvements include performance, a camera with higher resolution and video ability, voice control, and support for 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA downloading (but remains limited to 384 kbps uploading as Apple had not implemented the HSUPA protocol). It was released in the U.S., Canada and six European countries on June 19, 2009, in Australia and Japan on June 26, and internationally in July and August 2009. The iPhone 3GS runs Apple's iOS operating system, as is use on the iPad and iPod touch. It is control mostly by a user's fingertips on a multi-touch display.

o iPhone 4:(Fourth Generation):

The iPhone4 is a touch screen 3G smartphone developed by Apple Inc. It generation iPhone, and successor to the iPhone 3GS. It is particularly marketed for video calling (marketed by Apple as FaceTime), consumption of media such as books and periodicals, movies, music, and games, and for general web and e-mail access. It was announced on June 7, 2010, at the WWDC 2010 held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, and was released on June 24, 2010, in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan. is the fourth

iPhone 5(Sixth Generation):

The iPhone 5 is a touch screen-based Smartphone developed by Apple. It is the sixth generation of the iPhone and succeeds the iPhone 4S. The phone is a slimmer, lighter model that introduces a higher-resolution, 4-inch screen to the series with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio supports. The phone also includes a custom-designed ARMv7 processor called the Apple A6. An update to Apple's mobile operating system known as iOS 6, and support for LTE.

Apple held an event to formally introduce the phone on September 12, 2012. After Apple began taking pre-orders on September 14, 2012, over two million were received within 24 hours. Initial demand for the iPhone 5 exceeded the supply available at launch on September 21, 2012, and has been described by Apple as "extraordinary", with pre-orders having sold twenty times faster than its predecessors have. All New Design: It does not seem possible that an iPhone with so much specs i.e. a larger display, a faster chip, ultrafast wireless technology, an 8MP iSight camera. The most interesting thing about iPhone 5 is that it is so thin and so light. But the reality is, it is infact, iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever.

4-inch Retina Display: The 4-inch Retina display lets you see more of everything. In addition, everything you see is vivid and lifelike. It is larger, more beautiful canvas made the right way. Even

though the display is bigger, iPhone 5 is the same width as iPhone 4S. So its just as easy to use with one hand.

Ultrafast wireless: With support for the latest wireless technologies, iPhone 5 connects to more networks all over the world. And Wi-Fi is faster too. So one can browse, download, and stream content at remarkable speeds, wherever you happen to be.

Powerful A6 chip: The all-new Apple is designed to be A6 chip which is more powerful but not power hungry. CPU performance and graphics performance are up to twice as fast as on the A5 chip. But even with all that speed, iPhone 5 gives you outstanding battery life. 5. Software Apple develops its own operating system to run on Macs, OS X, the latest version being OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8). Apple also independently develops computer software titles for its OS X operating system. Much of the software Apple develops is bundled with its computers. Apple also offers a range of professional software titles. Their range of server software includes the operating system OS X Server, Apple Remote Desktop, a remote systems management application; and Xsan, a Storage Area Network file system. Apple also offers online services with iCloud, which provides cloud storage and syncing for a wide range of data, including email, contacts, calendars, photos and documents. It also offers iOS device backup, and is able to integrate directly with third-party apps for even greater functionality. iCloud is the fourth generation of online services provided by Apple, and was preceded by MobileMe, Mac and iTools all which met varying degrees of success.

iPhone Apps:
iOS (previously iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system developed and distributed by Apple Inc. Originally released in 2007 for the iPhone and iPod Touch, it has been extended to support other Apple devices such as the iPad and Apple TV. Unlike Microsoft's Windows Phone (Windows CE) and Google's Android, Apple does not license iOS for installation on non-Apple hardware. As of September 12, 2012 (2012 -09-12), Apple's App Store contained more than 700,000 iOS applications, which have collectively been downloaded more than 30 billion times. It had a 23% share of the smartphone operating system units sold in the first quarter of 2012, behind only Google's Android. In June 2012, it accounted for 65% of mobile web data consumption (including use on both the iPod Touch and the iPad). At the half of 2012, there were 410 million devices activated. According to the special media event held by Apple on September 12, 2012, 400 million devices have been sold through June 2012.
