Malicious Call Recording (MCR)

1 Denition
The Malicious Call Recording (MCR) feature can be used to determine malicious callers and record the corresponding call. Subscribers can activate the feature during an ongoing call or within a limited period after the end of a call.

2 Mode of operation
The Malicious Call Recording (MCR) feature is an extension of the existing Malicious Call Identification (MCI) feature. This variant allows calls to be recorded on a special recording device. Feature usage authorization is assigned and activated by the operator in response to subscriber requests. After being activated, all incoming calls are identified and automatically recorded from the start of the calls. If a subscriber requests MCR (by subscribercontrolled input before the call is ended), the call is saved. If MCR is not requested, the recording is deleted when the call is ended. Description of the functions sequence All incoming calls to a subscriber with authorization for MCR are automatically switched via a supervisory loop to a special recording device. The entire call is recorded i.e. the speech parts of the calling and called parties. The subscriber then decides whether the call is to remain saved or to be deleted. The call is permanently stored in the recording device by entering the access code for the feature (or a hook flash). The call can then be used for different purposes. If the subscriber makes no input, the entire call contents are deleted at the end of the call. Recording device The recording device can be connected in the network node of the authorized subscriber or is situated in a central service network node. It is accessed by a switched connection in that case. Connection to the recording device Connections to the recording device are usually 64-kbit/s speech channels. The directory number of the calling and called parties are transferred inband along with additional call data (malicious call data) with MFC-R2 signaling or D-channel messages.

3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can be used by subscriber controlled input. For the subscriber procedure, see: Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber GeoCENTREX Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber Subscriber controlled input functions Signaling method Analog Pulse Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Enter data and activate Delete data and deactivate Activate with/without data Feature use Interrogate state Interrogate data Interrogate state with/without data --------------X ------DTMF --------------X ------ISDN Keypad --------------X ------Funct. --------------X -------

Acknowledgments after subscriber controlled input Subscriber-controlled inputs are not confirmed in the feature. Feature usage MCR is requested as needed with the same procedure as MCI. There are different ways of starting malicious call identification and recording (e.g. hook flash, keypad protocol).

4 Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with: Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration Pulse Metering Message Detail Recording (MDR) for GeoCENTREX Flat rate Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and pulse metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for pulse metering. Charges for feature input and feature usage The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature usage are assigned to the subscriber. The following call charge registration is possible: Facility input by operator (FAIO) Facility input by subscriber (FAIS) Facility usage (FAU)
